Fibro & Friends Kansas City Fibromyalgia Support Group

Fibro & Friends Kansas City Fibromyalgia Support Group Fibromyalgia and Related Illnesses Fibro & Friends is a support group for those touched by Fibromyalgia, whether patients themselves or family and friends.

The group meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7 PM in the Burlington Room of the Pavilion at North Kansas City Hospital. The purpose of the group is to develop friendships with others, to learn, to share, to provide emotional support, and to “normalize” feelings regarding Fibromyalgia. Occasionally, speakers will be brought in to share their expertise regarding this illness. Meetings are very

relaxed and members are encouraged to share as they feel comfortable. When venting is needed, members allow time for that knowing that the goal is to help the person deal with the particular feelings and move on. Members who have access to the Internet often encourage each other and connect between meetings. Anyone touched by Fibromyalgia is invited to come and join Fibro & Friends. The group is led by Cheryl Herrington RN and Brad Ellis, both Fibromyalgia patients themselves. Registration is not necessary and meetings are free. For more information, please call Outreach Services at NKCH at 816-691-1691.
