MOLLY UPDATE 🐶❤️‍🩹

Last week, we shared Molly’s story—a beagle from Ridglan Farms who was diagnosed with a severe infection that had spread throughout her body.

After undergoing a CT scan and exploratory surgery with a partial cystectomy, she is now home and recovering with her foster family.

During surgery, veterinarians found that an infected uterine stump had become attached to Molly’s bladder wall, causing significant inflammation and discomfort. Part of her bladder wall had to be removed, and she spent time recovering in the veterinary clinic with a feeding tube before she was strong enough to return home.

For transparency, we are sharing her medical receipts. Thank you to everyone who has donated toward Molly’s care. Your support is helping save her life. ❤️

Freedom Fields just got a HUGE upgrade thanks to Gyms For Dogs 🥰🐶✨

At Freedom Fields, we recently expanded our space by creating a second, larger dog park where our survivors can run, play, explore, and truly enjoy their freedom. To make it even more special, Gyms For Dogs stepped in with their incredible natural dog park play and agility equipment.

Gyms For Dogs creates beautifully crafted, high-quality equipment designed for enrichment, play, and adventure, and they went above and beyond to help bring this new space to life.

We are so grateful for their generosity and support, and we can’t wait to watch our dogs make the most of this amazing new park. ❤️

Pokey is a total social butterfly 🦋. He gets along wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs!

He’s still got all the puppy classics: tiny squishy paws, that classic puppy breath, and a nonstop wagging tail. He’s equal parts playful and cuddly, always ready for fun but just as happy curled up beside you.

WE DID IT! Ridglan Farms will soon be closing its doors for good. 🐶🎉

After decades of breeding and selling thousands of beagles to testing labs, Ridglan Farms is finally “winding down its operation,” according to Eric McLeod, attorney for Ridglan Farms.

By the end of this summer, more than 2,000 beagles born into the animal testing industry will finally experience what it means to live in a home, have a family, sleep in a cozy bed, and feel the sunshine on their faces.

This is a HUGE milestone in the fight against animal testing, and Beagle Freedom Project is honored to be a part of it. We’ve been working tirelessly, both behind the scenes and around the clock, to fight for these beagles, and we’re thrilled to see that hard work paying off. We are especially honored to have been responsible for retrieving and placing 568 of these sweet pups into loving homes and with rescue partners.

Thank you to every one of our rescue partners, donors, volunteers, adopters, and fosters who helped make this possible. Special thanks to Center for a Humane Economy, Dane County Humane Society, Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, and Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies. This was an enormous and intricate group effort, and millions of people have been invested in the future of these beagles.

✨And one last special thank you to the activists who put their freedom on the line to bring all of this to the public’s attention!✨

Happy 12th Birthday to BFP alum, Sherman! 🎂🎉

Sherman is celebrating his second birthday with his forever family since being liberated from animal testing in 2024, and he couldn’t be more loved. These days, he’s living the life he always deserved—surrounded by his adoring family, dog sisters, and cat brothers.

His favorite part of the day? Dinner, of course. ❤️

Meet Judy! She’s a BFP alum who recently celebrated her one-year anniversary with her forever family. 🐶❤️

As many of our recent Ridglan beagle adopters and fosters are helping their pups settle into home life, Judy’s mom wanted to share some encouragement and perspective about the decompression process:

“To the new fosters and adopters of the Ridglan Farms rescues, hang in there! This is a partial list of the fears Judy quickly overcame.

> Doors closing
> Stairs
> Walks
> The wind
> Busy streets
> The television
> Buses
> Motorcycles
> The dishwasher
> The doorbell

The only things she is still afraid of are trash trucks and chihuahuas!”

A year later, Judy is thriving. Her mom also shared:

“She has brought more joy to our family than we ever could have imagined. She’s so loving, smart, and absolutely hilarious.“

Stories like Judy’s are a great reminder that patience, consistency, and time can make an incredible difference. ❤️
