BEFORE/AFTER: Winter ❤️🐾

Last week, we shared Layla’s (FKA Dusty) story. She was found alongside Winter in the California desert in January of last year after the two had been dumped and left to fend for themselves.

These sweet pups faced harsh conditions, including freezing temperatures, scarce water, and dangerous wildlife such as coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats, rattlesnakes, and scorpions.

Thankfully, they were found just in time, and today both dogs are living the lives they deserve. Like Layla, Winter has found her forever home—complete with two furry siblings! Her family told us that she even has her own theme song that they sing to her.

From sleeping on the cold, hard desert ground to lounging on a cozy couch, Winter’s transformation is a beautiful reminder of the difference love can make.

We are so happy to see her thriving with her family. ❤️

Meet Grace Kelly, a sweet senior girl we pulled from Ridglan Farms just two weeks ago. After spending her entire life in a breeding facility, Grace is finally experiencing the joys of life—and she’s embracing every moment.

Now living on a farm, she spends her days soaking up the sunshine, breathing fresh country air, and making new friends, including a few donkey companions! 🫏💕

HAPPY FIRST GOTCHA DAY TO LAYLA! 🎉

Remember Layla (FKA Dusty)? We found her after she was dumped in the California desert alongside two other pups, left to fend for themselves (as shown on the last slide).

This week, Layla celebrated her one-year adoption anniversary with her loving parents—and what a year it has been.

Since being adopted, Layla has blossomed into a loving, adventurous companion. She quickly settled into her new home and now enjoys coastal hikes, beach days, dog park adventures, and collecting sticks.

She’s also discovered her favorite things: yogurt and peanut butter treats, plus rope toys, tennis balls, and squeaky stuffed animals.

Layla even assisted in her parents’ engagement in August after spending the morning at Pacifica’s World Dog Surfing Competition and reuniting with her foster family.

“We are absolutely smitten over our fluffy girl and cherish her every day,” her adopters shared. “We are immensely grateful to BFP for taking her in and sending her to Dave and Heather for foster. If it weren’t for all of these events, we would not have found our soul dog.” 🥺❤️

The journey ahead may come with challenges, as rehabilitating a survivor is uniquely complex, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. With patience, compassion, and dedication, you will help your new companion heal, gain confidence, and finally experience the joyful life they always deserved.

And remember—you are not alone! Even if your companion didn’t come from BFP, we’re still here to support you. ❤️
