Today, our Little League family came together to honor the memory of 5-year-old Cooper Villano who was a member of East Haven Little League, and tragically passed away this week.

We placed stickers on all of our helmets in Cooper’s honor — a small gesture, but one filled with love, respect, and support for Cooper’s family and everyone who knew and loved him.

Baseball is about so much more than the game. It’s about community, friendship, family, and standing together during the hardest of times.

Today, we play for Cooper. ❤️⚾️

Rest peacefully, Cooper.

Please join us as we come together to remember and celebrate Cooper Villano. 💙

Cooper brought so much joy to those around him, and we invite our community to gather in his memory for a candlelight vigil at East Haven High School.

Monday, September 28
Gates open at 5:45 PM
Starts at 6:30 PM
East Haven High School Football Field

We invite everyone to wear blue or a jersey in honor of Cooper. EHLL players are encouraged to wear their EHLL jerseys. Candles will be provided.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has reached out asking how they can help. Everything needed for the vigil has been taken care of, so no additional volunteers, supplies, or assistance are needed. Simply being there to honor Cooper and support his family is more than enough.

Out of respect for Cooper’s family, we kindly ask that photos be kept to a minimum and that no photos of the family be taken or shared. Media will not be permitted. Fundraising will also not be permitted at the vigil.

All are welcome. Please share to help our community come together for Cooper.

The Villano family at East Haven Little League suffered an incredible loss this passed week. As a league we’ve decided to donate to their meal train in an effort to help in any way we can, if you’d like to do so as well, click the link below. In honor of Cooper, our fall ball athletes will be wearing the decals pictured below on their helmets. Keep their family in your prayers.
