MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. We are a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers. We are moms, and we believe that better moms make a better world. MOPS is a program designed for mothers from pregnancy until the time that their youngest child enters kindergarten. We are a group that provides a caring and accepting atmosphere for mothers & their children and allows a t
ime for mothers to escape, if for just a short time, the regular routines of their daily lives to form lasting friendships, give and receive encouragement and support, and have some fun. It is a way for mothers of preschoolers to refresh and renew during these demanding years. MOPS connects moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along side one another. MOPS moms meet together to hear an informative speaker regarding specifics of family life and parenting, to share concerns in small discussion groups, and to explore areas of creativity with unique and useful craft projects. Moms are able to engage in friendly conversation while enjoying something to eat that they didn’t have to prepare! Running along side the MOPS program is MOPPETS. MOPPETTS is the childcare program for MOPS moms. While the moms are engaged in their meeting, infants and toddlers (ages birth to 2) are cared for in warm, loving, stimulating environments and preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) take part in age-appropriate structured activities, including game time, story time, craft time, snack time, and more. MOPS will meet at Pond Hill Baptist Church (85 Pond Hill Rd, North Haven) the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month, September through May, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Several other fun activities, like park playdates and Moms Night Out events are also scheduled throughout the year.
