Yesterday, the Summer solstice released us from a particularly damp Spring, thankfully. One benefit, among many, may be the proliferation of black berries later this summer if the many blossoms around the island are any indication.

We need your help, please! The Maine Department of Transportation is coming to North Haven on July 23 to hold a public information meeting (6pm at Watermans). Our local coalition of interested organizations and individuals is trying to cooperatively convince the project engineers to come up with an alternative First Bridge design to the one they are proposing (and claim is final) that is of appropriate scale for our beloved, picturesque Pulpit Harbor. Please come to the meeting and support our efforts. The picture below is not unlike what they are proposing. Pulpit Harbor deserves something far better than a highway bridge! Please forward.
