The Town of Thompson will be holding a Budget Referendum for the Town and Board of Education budgets.

📅 Wednesday, October 14, 2026
⏰ 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

📍 Polling Locations:

* Thompson Public Library
* Thompson Town Hall
* Quinebaug Fire Station
* East Thompson Fire Station

✅ Who Can Vote?
Registered Thompson voters ages 18 and older.

📩 Absentee Ballots:
Available through Thompson Town Hall until noon on October 14. Completed ballots must be returned to Town Hall by 8:00 PM that day.

MRFES PTO is calling on our families, friends, neighbors, and local businesses to come together and support our school while giving unwanted shoes a new purpose!

👟 START CLEANING OUT THOSE CLOSETS!

We will be collecting gently worn, used, and new shoes of all sizes! Instead of letting those shoes collect dust, put them to good use while helping us raise funds for our students and school community.

They take sneakers , heels, Crocs, flats, boots, snow boots, steel toed, water shoes, slippers, cleats- Just no skates or roller blades.

❤️ COMMUNITY DRIVEN, COMMUNITY SUPPORTED!

This fundraiser is about more than just collecting shoes. It’s about bringing our community together for a great cause! Every pair donated helps them work toward our fundraising goals.

📍 DROP-OFF LOCATIONS COMING SOON!

They are currently working on securing convenient collection locations throughout the community to make donating as easy as possible. Stay tuned for additional details!

Thompson Little League Open Board Meeting

As we wrap up another year of Thompson Little League, we invite our families and community members to join us for our upcoming Open Board Meeting!

We’ll be discussing:

* End-of-year updates and discussion
* Fall field/complex clean-up
* Open Board positions and interest for the upcoming year
* Preparation for November, when new Board members will be voted in
* Early planning and preparation for the 2027 season

This is a great opportunity to learn more about what happens behind the scenes, share ideas, ask questions, and find out how you can become more involved with Thompson Little League.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our 2026 Thompson Little League End-of-Season Picnic! It was an incredible day filled with great food, fun, laughter, and celebrating an amazing season together. We hope everyone had a fantastic time!

A special congratulations to our players who are aging out of Little League and completed their memorable Last Run around the bases. Thank you for your dedication, sportsmanship, and the memories you’ve given our league over the years. We wish you all the best in your next adventures! ⚾️🥎

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Adriana Smith for generously donating her 50/50 raffle winnings back to Thompson Little League. Your kindness and support mean so much to our players and league families!

And finally… HUGE congratulations to Roman Kenney, our Littles Pie Eating Contest Champion! 🥧What a fun way to end the day!

Thank you to all of our volunteers, coaches, families, sponsors, and players who made the 2026 season one to remember. We can’t wait to see everyone back at the ball field next season!

Join us as we celebrate another incredible Thompson Little League baseball and softball season at our End of Season Picnic & Awards Ceremony!

🕙 10:00 AM – Gates Open
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and maybe even an umbrella as we kick off a day of celebrating our players, families, coaches, and volunteers!

🍔 11:00 AM – Lunch is Served
Enjoy a meal with teammates, friends, and family.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ 11:45 AM – “Last Run” Around the Bases
Help us honor our aging-out baseball and softball players with one final run around the bases on Baron Field.

🏆 12:00 PM – Awards Ceremony
Trophy presentations will take place on the Senior League Field as we recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our athletes throughout the season.

REMINDER, since it’s been a while, and there was such a gap between end of season and our picnic.

Since the question was asked, the delay in end of season picnic was due to our all-star team still currently playing. Without having the game schedule when this needed to be be planned/booked, we opted to push it a bit so everyone could attend. 2025 season, we ended up having two teams miss it due to games.
