Bobbie's Marker

We have installed a roadside memorial marker for Bobbie near where she died.

Bobbie took care of this community for years — she knew our names, she knew our stories, and she made sure we all felt looked after. When we lost her, the community came together in return. That's what this marker is — not just wood and craft, but people showing up for each other the way she always did.

Thank you to Todd Peterson and JR Reese for crafting a beautiful cross. To Lynn and John Miller, who assisted Bobbie's husband Charles with the installation. To Jim Betty, who kindly gave us permission to place it on his property line where it would be visible. And to Jeff Rawson and Travis Smith at the Idaho Department of Transportation for making the permit process painless.

Most of all, our love goes to Charles, her son McGuyver, and the family members left with a hole that nothing fills. We all have one too. This whole community does. But theirs is the deepest, and they've earned every bit of patience and grace we can give them.

You can visit the marker safely by parking in the historical billboard pullout directly across the highway. We ask that it be left unadorned — good intentions eventually turn into litter.
