Food Bank tomorrow!
We’re taking up a small collection to help repair the horse trailer we use to pick up the food. If you can spare a few dollars, it would be truly appreciated.
Thank you.

A Place to Say Goodbye

This will be my last update about Bobbie, though it won't be the last time any of us think of her.

Some of you know Mary — she's our FedEx driver, and she was Bobbie's good friend. Mary drives past the spot that took Bobbie from us every single day. She wanted there to be something there — a place to pause, to remember, to say what we didn't get to say. So now there is. The memorial is located right across the pullout just north of Carmen, where the historical information boards are. I've included a photo.

It's only been two weeks. I know some of you may be wondering about the family — they are exactly where you'd expect them to be, deep in grief, at the beginning of a very long road. Please hold space for that.

Bobbie's GoFundMe page will stay up for the foreseeable future — especially as snowbirds trickle back and are met with her absence instead of her smile. If you've been meaning to give, or if you'd prefer another way:

• The North Fork Store is collecting cash donations
• Checks can be arranged through Marsha Prestwick at (208) - 865-2350

This is my last post, but it doesn't have to be the last act of kindness. That part's up to all of us. 💕

A few thoughts from the heart.

Yesterday I drove all the way to Salmon to mail an envelope.
I wasn't quite ready to walk into the North Fork post office without Bobbie behind the counter. I'm sure whoever has taken her place is wonderful — and appreciated — but I just wasn't ready. Not yet.

The drive gave me time to think. About Bobbie. About Charles, about McGuyver, about Michele — and how unimaginably difficult these days must be when someone you love is taken so suddenly, so completely, leaving such a large space where they used to stand.

And then I thought about all of you.

Love is found in every act of generosity — large and small — taken to preserve our community. We launched this fundraiser just a week ago, and what you've done since then has been nothing short of extraordinary. Your kindness, your donations, your willingness to share Bobbie's story — it speaks to something deep and true about who we are out here in this valley.

Kindness was Bobbie's superpower. She gave it freely to every single person who walked through her door. I will hold that kindness in my heart for the rest of my life. I think many of you will too.

Sometimes I think Bobbie is reaching across the great divide to help us help her family. I wouldn't put it past her.

So let us hold Charles, McGuyver, and Michele in our hearts. Let us continue to honor Bobbie by spreading kindness throughout the valley — to our neighbors, to strangers, to the people who need it most. Our community is rooted in empathy. Bobbie knew that better than anyone.

I'm sharing a song that speaks to what this community has done — how you stood up, showed up, and carried this family when they needed it most. Give it a listen.

The word is still spreading — and so is the love.

Every day, more people are learning that our Bobbie is gone. And every day, more people show up — with donations, with kind words, with shared posts that carry her story a little further out into the world.

To the communities of Salmon and North Fork — thank you. Not just for the generosity, which has been extraordinary, but for proving something that shouldn't be rare but is: that when one of our own is lost, we close ranks around the people left behind. No hesitation. No questions. Just love and action.

That's not a small thing. In a world that can feel fractured and disconnected, these two communities are a living example of what it looks like when people actually take care of each other. Bobbie knew that. She lived it every day. And you are all honoring her by doing the same.

The family continues to be moved beyond words by your support. Every dollar, every share, every memory — it all matters, and none of it has gone unnoticed.

If you haven't had a chance to give or share yet, the door is still open. And if you've already contributed, know that you are part of something Bobbie would have been proud of.

With deep gratitude, The Friends & Family of Bobbie Flanigan

North Fork and beyond, you showed up.

We are overwhelmed. In just a short time, this community — and people well beyond it — have nearly reached our first fundraising goal. That says everything about who Bobbie was and what she meant to the people around her.

But it also says something about all of you.

Every donation, every share, every kind word left on this page — the family has seen them. They've read every single one. And on the hardest days of their lives, you've reminded them that they are not carrying this alone.

We're now setting our sights on our next goal to give Charles, McGuyver, and Michele a real cushion — not just for the funeral, but for the weeks and months ahead when the world moves on and the grief doesn't.

If you've already given, thank you. Truly.
If you haven't yet, there's still time to be part of this.
If all you can do is share, that's enough. That's how we got here.

Bobbie spent her life taking care of people. Look what happens when a community decides to return the favor.

With love and gratitude,
The Friends &Family of Bobbie Flanigan

North Fork lost one of its best.

Bobbie Flanigan — mother, nurse, gardener, painter, chicken keeper, and the woman who made every trip to the post office feel like visiting a friend — was taken from us suddenly and far too soon.

She loved this community with her whole heart. We loved her right back. And now her family needs us.

We've set up a GoFundMe to help her husband Charles, her son McGuyver and her sister Michele with funeral costs and the hard days ahead. Bobbie would've been the first to show up for any one of us. Let's show up for her family.

Give if you can. Share if you can. Leave a memory of Bobbie in the comments if you have one — her family will see them.
