Today, our club had the pleasure of welcoming Chief Yates and Officer Morgan from the Town of North East Police Department, MD to learn about their upcoming Shop With A Cop event on December 14th! Our club is donating funds to help 5 children get gifts and an outfit as well as have a positive experience with law enforcement in the community.

Come out to The Town of Rising Sun’s 4th Annual Winter Extravaganza !
Join us on Saturday, December 14th for Ice Skating in Center Square. Yes the Board agreed again to drop a rink in center square of the Town!
There will also be Christmas Crafters and Vendors! Photos with Santa!
A lighted tractor parade going down Main Street!
Town Residents will also be receiving information on how to sign up for Christmas Carriage Rides. If spots remain we will release information on how non-residents can sign up! We will end the night with the lighting of our Town Christmas Tree!
Ice Skating is free of charge thanks to some amazing business sponsors.

Last week, Meghan Handy and Karen Adair (Principal) from North East Elementary School were our speakers at meeting. Meghan's role is Community Advisor, seeking to create partnerships with local businesses and organizations in North East. She approached our group offering several opportunities to help out at the school to support their 630 students.

On the first Wednesday of each month, the new Dads at the Door program greets students as they come into the school. Words of encouragement and high-fives from men in the community create a positive attitude for students as they begin their day. The Mentor Program allows a volunteer to sit in class with a student for 30 minutes one day every other week. By playing a game or just listening, a relationship can be built to encourage students to become more engaged at school. A background check is required for this program.

Rotary clubs of Elkton and North East are collecting non perishable food items for food banks in the county at Redners in Elkton. Redners customers are super generous! We will be collecting until 1pm

Thanks to all that came to our Meals of Hope food packing event, we were able to surpass our goal of 15,000 meals!

We are urging volunteers to attend our largest service project of the year, Meals of Hope. Come to Cecil County Memorial VFW Post 6027, 815 Turkey Point Rd in North East, to participate in a fun, high energy, volunteer event that help out food insecure people in the community. This clip from our last Meals of Hope event shows how fun this event is!

One week from today, November 9th, please join us for our Meals of Hope Event at the Cecil County Memorial VFW Post 6027 in North East. The address is 815 Turkey Point Rd and we will be packing from 8:30am to noon! Here are some photos from our last meal packing. This time, we will pack 15,000 meals that will go to local food banks!

Another reminder about our largest service project of the year that is coming up on November 9th from 8:30am to noon! We will be at the Cecil County Memorial VFW Post 6027, 815 Turkey Point Rd in North East, packing 15,000 meals that will be donated to local food pantries. Our club has done this before as a way to fight hunger in the community, enjoy these photos from 2018!
