A new report from Pennsylvania says that 37% of the state’s streams are impaired, an increase from 34% in a 2024 version of the same report.

Over 31,000 miles of waterways stretch across the commonwealth- each one of those miles valuable to quality of life.

If a waterway can’t be used for swimming, drinking, fishing, or agricultural and industrial uses- that waterway is impaired.

Our programs aim to:
🚮Prevent litter and illegal dumping,
🌱Clean and green communities,
♻Promote and provide for the proper handling of waste and hard to recycle items,
🌎Educate youth and the general public about litter, waste, and recycling,
💚Foster community stewardship through volunteer engagement and recognition.
We support programming in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania and work with many partnering organizations on the state and grassroots level to accomplish a shared goal of a clean and beautiful Pennsylvania. https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/

A new sign is now in place to help educate the public about how this simple tool makes a big impact by stopping trash before it reaches Presque Isle Bay and beyond.
