Relocated a robin’s nest this Friday with four baby robins from the deck to the side of the house. The lady’s husband created a really nice alternative for the robin’s family so the human family can finally have their covered deck back and finish installing the screens.

Happy to see the robin’s family enjoying a new home painted by the owner’s little daughter! ❤️

Video of the family post move is in comments!

Kathleen Frisbie from The Place for Wild Birds is taking care of an injured adult male cardinal. ❤️. The cardinal was found near the road and appears to be have stricken by a passing car. Although immobile, he was screaming and biting when we tried to pick him up, not letting go of the handler’s finger for a while!

The bad news is that his whole body is cocked to the side and he is immobile. He also has blood under his skin, indicating internal injuries. The good news is that he is alert and his legs are moving. We hope it is a bruise and swelling that results in his immobility and not a broken spine. He will be kept in an air conditioned room and monitored, as well as fed. If it is a swelling, it usually takes 3 weeks for the swelling to go down…

Hello everyone! We are very late in coming to Facebook. We have been rehabilitating wild birds for over 28 years and had a lovely website containing many pictures we collected over the years, as well as comprehensive information on wild birds and their care. We spent a lot of time and effort preparing this website to educate public about wild birds and also to provide guidance in emergency situations.

However, the wonderful volunteer who built and run our website has passed away from brain cancer a few years back, we got too busy caring for the birds in our care, and the company that hosted our website has discontinued website hosting services, which resulted in us losing all the amazing information and pictures we had on our website, since we have not received the advanced warning due to our dear friend’s passing.

We still own domain names placeforwildbirds.org, placeforwildbirds.com, and babybirds.org; however, with raising website hosting costs ($9-$15 a month), we are not sure if makes sense for us to build, host, and maintain a website. The prices that were quoted to us were over $500 for 3-year hosting and around $800 for 5-year hosting. We simply don’t have these funds to spend…. We will most likely not proceed with creating the new website.

As such, we decided to venture into a new and unfamiliar world of Facebook. We hope to get all the approvals to have a Donation button on our page by following all necessary Facebook approval requirements, which may take up to a month. We are raising funds to buy supplies, food, and medications for many wild birds in our care (not for the website). We hope to have the Donation button up and running soon. Until then, you can mail your donations to us directly at:
