Join the City of New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches and Scouting America Narragansett Council for our FREE Fishing Derby at Fort Taber Park!

Whether you're a first-time angler or a seasoned pro, this event is open to all ages and experience levels. Participants will register for a 30-minute fishing session, but the fun doesn't stop there!

Pack 74’s end of the year party was the party of all parties! The Scouts received their awards, had pizza, played games in the arcade and are now swimming in the epic pool at Silverstone Castle. This year they performed over 600 service hours in the community, learned valuable skills and built lifelong friendships. We are so proud of each and every one of our Scouts! Parents and leaders- we couldn’t have done this without you, thank YOU! Stay tuned for our summer adventures!

We were so hopeful that the weather forecast would change, but the parade has been cancelled. The town will still be having a small ceremony for those who want to attend.

The Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026 is cancelled due to inclement weather. The Town will still have a small service at the cemetery then the bridge starting at 9 am for those who would like to attend. We thank you for understanding.

Pack 74 has big news to share! Last night at the Narragansett Council - Southeast District Awards Dinner, our very own Ed Nickerson and Daniel DaCosta were honored by the district council.

Ed won Cub Master of the Year, and Dan received the Golden Spark Plug award. Both awards are well-deserved, and we are so proud of you both.

Please help us congratulate them on their achievements and contributions to our Pack. We are so lucky to have you both!

Our Scouting year may be nearing the end, but Pack 74’s adventures continue all year long! We had an amazing time at the annual fishing derby at the Rustic Rose Ranch! The Cubs joined other Scouts from the area to have a day filled with friendship, worms and fishing fun! Lots of pizza and cotton candy kept our Cubs fueled for fun.

A huge thank you to all of our leaders, Troop 74 helpers, parents and especially Rustic Rose Ranch for hosting us!

Pack 74 had an awesome time camping this weekend at Camp Norse. Scouts and families enjoyed hiking, fishing, and of course making plenty of s’mores while telling spooky stories around the campfire. We even played parents vs. kids kickball game— how are we all feeling today parents? 😆

I didn’t take many pictures this time but it was filled with great memories, lots of laughs, and another adventure in the books! Feel free to drop any pics of the weekend in the comments!

Join us at Michael's in North Dartmouth for a free Easter event, taking place from 1-3pm with the Easter Bunny. Take a picture with the Easter Bunny, and photos can be purchased on site. Prices are: an 8x10 photo for $6 and a framed photo with a box for $29.
