We hope everyone is staying safe and keeping up their positivity during these unpresendented times!! We want to help and brighten up people’s day with our special Online Raffle!! Important Announcement:

Good Afternoon,

As of today, March 11, 2020 Fashion for a Cause on Friday March 20, 2020 will be canceled until further notice, due to the prevention's we are taking in regards to the Corona Virus (COVID-19). Our first priority is making sure we are keeping everyone healthy and safe within our communities!

We are following UMass Dartmouth’s and the CDC’s guidelines and are unsure as of now when the show will be rescheduled. We want to thank you for everything you have done to support our cause over the past couple of months as your devotion and dedication has been valued. More information will be released as it becomes available. We will be working to refund guests as soon as we receive word on how to do so. Thank you for you attention and attentiveness.

Emmie Young-Kershaw is a comedian from New Bedford MA. Recently she has been recovering from severe brain damage from a bad car accident and has been in and out of the hospital since November. When she’s not getting kicked out of AppleBees for having too much cheeseburger sliders, she’s usually getting Tik Tok famous or performing stand up comedy. She loves Yung Gravy, dip n dots, and scented markers. Emmie is promoting positivity and perseverance.

MEET MODEL: Ana De Araujo
(Fashion for a Cause 2020)

Ana De Araujo is a marketing representative for SERVPRO of Dartmouth / New Bedford, Marion / Middleborough, and Fall River. She enjoys getting to spread the word about what SERVPRO does as a fire and water cleanup and disaster restoration company. Whether it’s out networking or presenting to local agencies on the benefits of using SERVPRO in the event of a disaster, she loves getting to build relationships within the community she lives. Ana also serves on the leadership council for the Young Professionals of Greater Fall River and is an Ambassador for the One Southcoast Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Cranberry Chamber of Commerce.

When Ana isn’t out networking and spreading the SERVPRO love, you can most likely find her outside (when its warm!) at a park, beach, or one of the many trails in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She also enjoys volunteering at her church as a youth mentor and helping young girls realize their true identity and purpose.

MEET MODEL: Catherine Pope
(Fashion for a Cause 2020)

Catherine Pope is a third year Psychology major, with a minor in Philosophy. She enjoys musing on the nature of life with friends, and waxing poetic over old philosophers. Currently employed by Fellowship Health Resources, she is working in her relevant field as a Recovery Support Worker. The recovery community is near and dear to her heart, and she is the president of the UMD Collegiate Recovery Community.

In addition, she is a member of the student advisory committee for American Recovery in Higher Education, and a part of Project SAFE. When she isn't working or helping her community you can find her in the gym, or in the kitchen recreating dishes from her Italian heritage to be gluten free and dairy free. After graduation she plans on attending law school, to further help groups who's voices struggle to be heard.

MEET MODEL: Marianela Dutra Africano
(Fashion for a Cause 2020)

My name is Marianela Dutra Africano. I’m an 18 year old Aries born in the year of the snake. As a woman who grew up with three brothers, one of which is a twin. I understand the significant societal differences parents have in raising a boy versus a girl. I’ve also learned how to go out and prove others wrong. I play on my coed team not only as the smallest and youngest but one of the best defenders. I used to play soccer as the only female on a boys team.

My whole life I’ve been trying to prove I’m just as good because I’m just as determined if not more to be the best on that pitch. Being a woman is nice because regardless of where you go there will always be a kind comment or collective encouragement from a female and that is something I love. Women build other women up. It’s how it should be because I know I would never want to be torn down.
