Hello SAL members and friends,
I'm pleased to announce the winners of our scholarship for 2025. These applicants wrote very thoughtful and heartfelt essays about family members who are veterans and we thought that all were worthy of our top award so we are dividing it equally. I will leave a check in an envelope for each in the drawer under the cash register at the Post that can be picked up 9/1 or after. Here are the winners:
Paige Marvin, granddaughter of SAL member Victor Thellen, Rivier University. $400
Victoria Rivanis, granddaughter of SAL member Bruce Harper, UMass Lowell. $400
Krista Leduc, daughter of Auxiliary member Dianna King, UMass Lowell. $400
Our next meeting will be Saturday October 4th at Noon. We will have elections and plan for our next big event - the children's Christmas Party. I encourage everyone to get involved.
Opening day for the Patriots is Sept 7th at 1:00 PM and is always a great time at the post. Al will be serving up burgers and hot dogs and I'm sure there will be a few delicious potluck dishes as well. Here's a few more upcoming events:
September 27th at 7:30PM we will have an awesome rock and roll band.
November 1st 7:00PM Mike Gacek concert!
November 9th 10:00AM Craft Fair
November 22nd 1:00PM Turkey Shoot
We are also thinking about another Chili cookoff and a member Halloween party in October both of which were a total blast last year so stay tuned for dates/times.
