Today is the day! Our annual Hearthside Holiday Open House Party is today, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the cozy Caleb Nickerson Homestead. Meet a Victorian Santa! Enjoy cranberry punch and holiday cookies. Watch a demonstration of open-hearth cooking, including our popular chicken-on-a-string. See you at 1107 Orleans Road, North Chatham. If you can, please bring mittens for our Mitten Tree. All mittens go to the Chatham Children's Fund. Everyone is welcome to this family-friendly event!

Ring in the holiday season with us this Sat., Dec. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Caleb Nickerson Homestead - Chatham Annual Holiday Hearthside Open House. Spaces are still available in the upcoming Hands-On-History classes inside the Caleb Nickerson Homestead - Chatham. Cheryl Flett will lead a class in making a felted reindeer on Sat., Nov. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. And Sonny Gada will lead a class in making a Thanksgiving centerpiece on Sat., Nov. 22. Happy Halloween! As the cold weather comes upon us, here's a reminder that we're hosting our annual Mitten Tree at the Hearthside Holiday Party at the Caleb Nickerson Homestead on Sat., Dec. 6 from 1 to 4. Thanks to your generosity, we have donated over 200 pairs of mittens and other knitted items to the Chatham Children's Fund in the past five years.

Our fall classes are about to begin! On Sat., Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. you can create a felted gnome with Cheryl Flett.
Felting is an ancient craft that involves making wool into cloth without weaving or knitting. In this hands-on workshop Cheryl will show you how to create your own felted gnome for Halloween using wet and needle felting techniques. All materials are included and beginners are welcome.

Always wanted to see the Caleb Nickerson Homestead - Chatham but never got around to it? This is the final week of the 2025 season. Stop by between 10 and 2 today and noon and 4 tomorrow and take a look-see. On display now are the artifacts from the excavation of William and Anne's ca. 1664 homestead. We're at 1107 Orleans Road, North Chatham.

The Caleb Nickerson Homestead is open today, Wed., Sept. 24 until 1 p.m. We are open tomorrow, Thurs., Sept. 25 from noon to 4. These are the final regular tour dates of the season-- stop on by!

We're open today-- our final Friday hours of the summer-- from 11 to 2. Come see us at 1107 Orleans Road, North Chatham.

The summer is sadly winding down. But-- good news! The Caleb Nickerson Homestead - Chatham is open today (Friday) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come see us and walk through the beautiful Colonial gardens! Admission is free, but donations are accepted. In September we will be open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
