From Jenkins to the world, one young musician turned opportunity into an extraordinary legacy. 🌍🎶

**Edmund Thornton Jenkins**, a talented clarinetist who performed with the Jenkins Orphanage Band, traveled with the band to London in 1914. His musical journey continued in England, where he went on to study at the prestigious **Royal Academy of Music in London**.

Jenkins became an accomplished composer and musician, showing just how far the opportunities created through music could carry a young person from Charleston.

**A young musician. A world of opportunity.**

In 1914, the **Jenkins Orphanage Band traveled to London, England**, where they performed at the Anglo-American Exposition, carrying the music and legacy of Jenkins onto an international stage.
