Reading Partners believes that all children deserve the opportunity to succeed. Partnering with our local community members and leaders from local school districts, we’re working towards a future where every child has the individualized support they need to become strong readers and lifelong learners. Working closely with Charleston County, Berkeley County, and Dorchester County School District le

aders, the philanthropic community, and families, Reading Partners serves 17 Title I elementary schools across Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties. In the Charleston region, we currently work with more than 700 students thanks to more than 800 community volunteers who give their time every week to ensure success for budding young readers.

Our Story

In the 2018-19 school year, Reading Partners South Carolina served 813 readers in 16 Title I elementary schools in Charleston and Berkeley counties.

NATIONAL SERVICE Reading Partners is a proud partner with the Corporation for National and Community Service. Our Reading Centers are powered by dedicated AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers.

RECORD OF SUCCESS IN SOUTH CAROLINA Reading Partners is focused on data and results. We are dedicated to ensuring that every investment made in the success of our students leads to a measurable increase in reading skills. During the 2018-19 school year:

- Over 95% of K-2 mastered the foundational reading skills needed to read at grade level; - 91% of K-5 grade students met or exceeded their end-of-year literacy growth goal. - 94% of volunteers were satisfied with their experience.
