What a beautiful day to teach tennis at North Charleston!
Keeping the attention span of a child takes someone to be able to change the activity & still make it fun!!!
That’s part of the job so our activities went from tossing, trapping, splat, volleys, head/shoulder/knees/toes/ball, fruit salad, forehands to dog pound in 1 hour!!!
What’s your favorite activity or game to keep the interest fun? Let us know & the parents had fun participating too!!!

First Hispanic Outreach Clinic was tonight for 2nd to 5th grade students!!
If still interested in signing up, please register since we have 8 weeks left in the program & it’s FREE!! This clinic is on Tuesdays from 4-5 pm. Link is below & thank you John Farrelly & Bob Peiffer for creating & supporting this program through LYTA.
There are also clinics from 6-7 pm on Mondays & Wednesdays plus we have a Hispanic Pro, Andre Napolitan teaching those clinics. These clinics are also FREE for 11-18 year old Hispanic students.
Hispanic translator is welcome & there’s a possibility of paying a person to be there to translate on Tuesdays.

SIGN UP TODAY TO LEARN RED BALL DRILLS, ACTIVITIES & FUN GAMES TO TEACH RED BALL!
This is a great workshop for PE teachers, volunteers, high school players, college players & parents because we are offering stipends to those who will help us to teach red ball on September 7 at Charleston Tennis Center!
Lunch is included, inside gym contracted because we want to show that you don't need a court to teach red ball plus signing up to teach, equipment packages included!!!
This is a no brainer to sign up for August 17 at Arthur W Christopher Community Center from 9 am - 12 pm. We will break out into groups & teach activities plus questions are welcome!
Let's start bringing tennis to communities, show that tennis doesn't have to be a yellow ball for fun & bridge the GAP!!!

As Lowcountry JTT comes to an end for the Spring, let's congratulate the winners of the season, say farewell to a player who is returning to Sweden, thank all the parents, players, captains and coaches and close out the Sportsmanship awards with giving the trophies to the player of the season who displayed sportsmanship, teamwork and tennis etiquette.

On a final note, it's been a great ride this 2024 year and one of the best ways to play tennis, build confidence and show the parents that all those lessons, clinics are not going to waste by playing tennis at an affordable price plus the final sportsmanship winner of the season is Maybank's Hope Thomas and I can't think of a better name to end the season with saying may the awards of sportsmanship GIVE HOPE TO 2025!!! GAME ON!!

We are gathering college coaches to come watch you play!

Time: Player Onsite Registration: Tentatively 8:30am
Girls’ Match Play: Tentatively 9:00am
Coaches’ Meeting / Roundtable / Q&A: Tentatively 11:00am
Boys’ Match Play: Tentatively 1:00pm

Cost: $60.00
Registration Deadline: Friday, June 21st, 2024

All players and parents are invited to the Coaches’ Meeting and Roundtable. This will feature coaches engaging with a group discussion on all things college tennis. There will also be a Q&A session with the coaches. Lunch will be provided for all players and coaches.

An Amazing Gift from Madison Keys & her Kindness Wins Foundation!!! We are truly blessed in Charleston!!!

Kindness Wins is excited to announce we have pledged a $15,000 grant to the City of Charleston’s Inner City Youth Tennis Program: Courting Kids!

Run in partnership with the Lowcountry Youth Tennis Association, Courting Kids provides recreation and competitive tennis experience for youth ages 5-17. The children go through a comprehensive program that enables them to build self-esteem and personal successes through a variety of tennis experiences.

Courting Kids is one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised by the Credit One Charleston Open Pro-Am in April, chosen by Madison Keys to continue growth of the sport she loves in one of her favorite cities in the United States.

This grant will be used to offset registration fees, provide tennis equipment, snacks and incentives for the children from June 2024 to May 2025.
