Happy Charter Day to the Mighty Mu Alpha!

Today we proudly celebrate 88 years of Brotherhood, leadership, and service as Mu Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. commemorates its Charter Day.

Since August 6, 1938, the Mighty Mu Alpha has stood as a beacon of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift, making a lasting impact throughout Charleston and beyond.

Today we honor our founders, celebrate every Brother who has carried our legacy forward, and recommit ourselves to serving our community with excellence and purpose.

Here’s to 88 years of legacy and to the generations of Brothers yet to come.

Mu Alpha Chapter had another strong and productive meeting tonight followed by fellowship over dinner. The continued support, engagement, and brotherhood displayed by the brothers continues to move the chapter forward in a positive direction.

Special recognition to Brother Frank Hill, Reclamation Chairman, for his leadership and dedication that helped Mu Alpha Chapter receive recognition at the 81st Annual Sixth District Meeting in Spartanburg, South Carolina:

We also encourage all brothers in the Charleston area — whether you are newly relocated, transitioning from undergrad, or looking to reconnect — to come out and connect with the chapter. We also presented the “See It Through” Award to students who overcame challenges and made tremendous strides despite adversity.

Special thanks to CCSD Department of School Support Charleston County School District, & Planet Fitness and help making this day a success.

We also thank newly elected 1st Vice District Representative Bro. Dr. Timothy B Hunter for coming down and supporting our function. 💜💛

Today we honor every mother grandmother auntie sister godmother mentor and every woman who stepped up and loved cared for and guided others with a mother’s heart 💜

Motherhood is more than biology. It’s sacrifice prayers strength wisdom patience and unconditional love. It’s the late nights the hard decisions the encouragement the hugs and the constant showing up even when nobody sees the weight being carried.

We also pause to honor the mothers who are no longer with us physically but whose love still lives on through memories lessons prayers and legacy 🤍

To every queen making a difference in the lives of others thank you for all you do and all you are.

Charleston, it’s time to lace up for a cause. 👟💜💛
The Mu Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc./OCCUP is hosting its 8th Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk at Hampton Park on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
This one is rain or shine, and proceeds will support Mu Alpha Chapter’s Annual Boys to Summer Camp Program and other mentoring initiatives.
