We are so excited to announce our first ever Teen Club Charity Market coming up next Saturday, March 16th from 11:30am-1:30pm at Charleston Animal Society! Teen Club is a program that empowers teens in our community to get more involved in helping the animals.

This year, in celebration of Charleston Animal Society's 150th anniversary, and as a culmination of all they have learned through the program, our Teen Club participants will be hosting a market with the goal of raising $150 (per student) for the animals! They'll be selling handmade crafts, art, jewelry, food, pet supplies, and local goods. Joining the festivities will also be the Don Sazon food truck selling delicious lunch options, and King of Pops - Charleston with delicious desserts for humans and Pay It Forward Pup Pops, inspiring visitors to purchase a pop for a shelter pup!

We hope you'll stop by and join us in supporting both shelter pets and local youth!

Is your child required to earn service hours for their school, club, church, sports team, etc.?

Not only can kids earn service hours by volunteering AT the shelter, but they can also earn service hours from HOME!

Our animals are constantly in need of enrichment items to make their time at the shelter more enjoyable, so it's a win-win situation!

Last call for all CCSD students who have the day off of school this Wednesday!

We are hosting a service day at the shelter from 10:00am-12:00pm to help you stick to those New Year's resolutions to try new things and give back to the community!

Along with assisting with volunteer projects throughout the shelter, participants will also get the opportunity to see behind-the-scenes at our facility and interact with our adorable animals. Not to mention, this is also a great chance to log some service hours before the end of the school year!

P**p happens! And when it comes to puppies and kittens, it happens quite a lot!

P**p may be gross, but it is a fantastic indicator of our pet's health and is a great way to determine how they are feeling.

For veterinarians, p**p questions are important and necessary.

So, we are calling all aspiring veterinarians (ages 9-12) to join us as we learn more about p**p and how it helps us be better owners and doctors!

Don't worry- this class will be far from gross! We will get silly, learn more about what it takes to become a veterinarian, and even snuggle some cute shelter pets! Picking up p**p is not a requirement- so don't fret! This program will be great for any animal lover or aspiring vet!

Fun new things happening this fall!!!!

We've got exciting new things to share!!!

Introducing the Explorer's Club- created to allow kids of varying ages to explore a multitude of career paths and fields within the animal world, while also participating in projects to help shelter pets!

It takes a village to support our community's animals, and our Explorer's Club aims to show students that no matter what your passion is (art, science, advocacy, etc.) there are so many ways that you can use your skills and talents to help the lifesaving work of animal organizations.

Is your child in need of service hours for school? We've got you covered! Each class will include an opportunity to volunteer and give back, so that you can earn service hours each time you visit!

Oh, and did we mention that every single class includes interactions with adorable animals? What could be better?!
