Day 3 of D.C. Fly-In wrapped up at the Washington Navy Yard, where our delegation sat down with senior Navy leaders to talk about the role the Nuclear Power Training Schools in the Charleston region play in our nation's security.

From there, the conversation turned to how the Navy and our community can continue working together. Childcare came up again, along with infrastructure improvements like Red Bank Road. Navy leadership shared their commitment to collaborating on solutions.

That concludes this year's D.C. Fly-In trip, presented by HNTB. This trip exemplifies the strength of the Charleston community, and prepares our region for the opportunities ahead. Thank you to everyone who made the trip with us, and to everyone who followed along back home.

D.C. Fly-In kicked off Day 2 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with the Chiefs of Staff Panel, providing our attendees access to our federal delegation to learn about each individual office's priorities for the upcoming year and hear about how to be most competitive when looking to receive federal dollars.

We then moved into a Press Pool Panel with press who cover the White House for AP, NBC and the Wall Street Journal, giving us a front-row seat to how those questions get asked, instead of asking them.

From there, the conversation turned to housing. HUD said fewer regulations would mean more housing built where it matters most, a challenge that was echoed by the Coast Guard on Day 1, now playing out on a bigger stage.

Relationships continued to build as the evening closed over dinner with the Greenville Chamber.

One more day of D.C. Fly-In to go.

Day 1 of D.C. Fly-In, presented by HNTB, is officially in the books.

Our delegation kicked off the trip inside U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, sitting down with Rear Admiral Carter and other Coast Guard leaders on Charleston's $440 million expansion. The conversation moved quickly to solutions for the housing and childcare challenges our servicemembers and regional businesses already know well. It's exactly the kind of access that turns conversations into results.

From there, they traded the boardroom for the ballpark, catching a Nationals win to close out the night. Between innings, the day's takeaways turned into talk of opportunities back home. The relationships built off the clock carry just as much weight as the ones built during it.
