What a night for the Coast Guard and Greater Charleston! 🇺🇸⚓
The Charleston Council of the Navy League was proud to join the Propeller Club of Charleston and the Coast Guard Foundation in hosting the inaugural Greater Charleston U.S. Coast Guard Tribute & Ball, bringing together 375 attendees to celebrate the men and women of the United States Coast Guard and their families.
The evening was a wonderful tribute to the past, present, and future of the Coast Guard. Highlights included a moving remembrance ceremony honoring those who served before us, recognition of today's Coast Guard members and their contributions to our community, and a special ceremony in which new Coast Guard recruits took their oath of enlistment and participated in a symbolic "changing of the watch."
We were also honored to hear from senior Coast Guard leadership and recognize the growing importance of Greater Charleston to the Coast Guard's missions. Following the formal program, guests enjoyed an evening of fellowship, celebration, and dancing!
The Charleston Council was central to Charleston's designation as a Coast Guard Community in 2024, which recognized the extraordinary bond between the Coast Guard and our region. This inaugural Tribute & Ball was another milestone in strengthening that relationship and demonstrating our community's appreciation for those who serve.
