💨 Catch My Breath: Va**ng Prevention Program — A Powerful Success!

What an incredible afternoon of learning, engagement, and empowerment!

My Community’s Keeper Mentor Group proudly hosted MUSC’s Catch My Breath: Va**ng Prevention Program, bringing together youth, to have honest conversations about the dangers of ni****ne and cannabis va**ng.

Participants learned:
âś… How va**ng affects the developing brain and body
âś… The addictive nature of ni****ne and cannabis
âś… Healthy coping and stress-management strategies
âś… Refusal skills and positive decision-making
âś… How to support friends and family in making healthy choices

A special thank you to MUSC’s Family Tree our healthcare and community partners for helping educate, encourage, and inspire our young people. Together, we are building healthier futures—one conversation, one youth at a time.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Palmetto Goodwill for hosting this important initiative and for their continued commitment to youth and community wellness.

Together, we’re helping our youth breathe easier, live healthier, and choose brighter futures.

MCKMG Prevention, Protection & Pathways Symposium

This powerful session will be moderated by Jerome Smalls,
Developer of Youth Outreach, Charleston Police Department.

Focused on early intervention and proactive solutions, this panel will bring together leaders across education, public safety, institutions, and community to explore how we can address the root causes of youth violence before crisis occurs.

Through real conversation and practical insight, this session will highlight:

We are proud to announce ReZsaun Lewis, MPA as the Keynote Speaker for the MCKMG Prevention, Protection & Pathways Symposium.

ReZsaun Lewis is an award-winning speaker, mentor, author, and community leader dedicated to empowering young people and strengthening communities. A U.S. Army veteran, former educator, and Executive Director of Lowcountry Youth Services, he has spent more than a decade creating safe spaces where youth can develop leadership, accountability, and purpose.

Through mentorship, prevention programming, and real conversations, ReZsaun addresses the root causes of violence—helping young people navigate trauma, conflict, identity, and decision-making.

His impact has earned him recognition including the 2026 MLK Picture Award and the 2026 Positive Vibez MLK Icon Award.

As the author of I Need Answers, Vol. 1 and The A to Z Guide to Becoming HIM, his message challenges us all.
