The Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor is looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Support Contractor to join our team.

This role provides ongoing administrative, bookkeeping, and travel coordination support for GGCHC staff and leadership. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities.

📍 Hybrid - Greater Charleston, SC area
💰 $25/hour
🕐 15 to 20 hours per week
📄 1099 independent contractor engagement

We're looking for someone with administrative or bookkeeping experience, strong organizational skills, and a genuine interest in supporting the preservation of Gullah Geechee history and culture.

High School juniors! 📢 You have 1 month left to apply for the Rev. Pinckney Scholars College Readiness Program.

This 18-month program helps to ensure students’ success leading up to, during and after college. Those who complete the College Readiness Program are exclusively eligible to apply for the College Success Program in the second semester of their senior year of high school.

Criteria to apply:
✔️ Permanent residents of Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Hampton or Jasper County
✔️ First-generation college student (whose parent(s) did not complete a bachelor’s degree)
✔️ Have an unweighted GPA of at least 2.5
✔️ Taking courses to prepare for academic success during and after college
✔️ Planning to attend a two-year or four-year college upon graduation
✔️ Eligible for a Pell Grant (We will help determine this)

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY OCTOBER 19.

Our Guest Speakers from our meeting yesterday was from "Be A Mentor"

They are currently looking for 8 more Mentors for Chicora Elementary School. Volunteering to visit the school during the lunch period (usually 20 mins) to be an encouragement to the student. You just have to be 21 years old or older. No other experience necessary. And training is offered.
