Update on the numbers for Boaz's Fields and Cupboards as of December 31, 2024...
This post is to give final numbers for the 2024 year.
We have given away 30,203 lbs of food. That is over 15 tons of food. When I started keeping track I was excited to hit the 2 ton mark. I am thankful of our numbers for 2024. God most definitely works through others.
We drove 2107 miles (this includes our food pick up miles) to deliver to 388 houses in which 308 were first time recipients and only 80 repeats since January 2024. Also, 372 people have picked up food since January. With 251 first time recipients.
That is roughly 40 lbs of food each pick up/delivery.
We have provided cooked meals to 9 fire families this year. Retail price $384 (Not counted in the previous numbers/weights) Most also received food, blankets, pillows, toys (children), personal care items and household items to help in their new home.
We have provided emergency food boxes to 47 families in need this year. (Not counted in the previous numbers/weights.) That's an additional 2450 lbs of food.
We do not count non-food items (detergent, toilet paper, dish soap, shampoo etc...) in the previous number/weights. We will be tracking non food items in 2025.
We did an Easter event where children received Easter baskets and dinner, did crafts and gave away 9 hams and 3 turkeys.
We have done 4 sweets (cake or cookies) with milk events. 28 homes enjoyed a sweet treat and a half a gallon of milk.
Between our wonderful community members who donated turkeys and what Boaz's Fields and Cupboards was able to acquire there were 53 turkeys handed out by Thanksgiving. Some had sides to go with them. Totaled another 1052 lbs of food (not included in previous numbers).
We have been blessed by a giving community. We have had 3 farm fresh egg donators. We have had 31 homes donate canned and boxed goods and 3 anonymous organizations donate. 3 local stores have donated food to our giveaways.
We look forward to 2025 and would like to thank everyone who made 2024 a success.
