Artful Living and Learning

Artful Living and Learning Artful Living and Learning believes that fine arts immersion enhances creativity, increases academic performance, and stimulates leadership characteristics

Artful Living and Learning is an early childhood preschool educational program that immerses students in fine arts through lessons in visual arts, literacy, music, drama, and dance for 25 weeks. Early exposure to fine arts stimulates creativity and leads to improved academic achievement. In addition, an important component of Artful Living and Learning is research: pre-test/post-test and longitudi

nal studies. Preschool students who have been part of Artful Living and Learning have shown significant improvement in academic achievement and attendance years later. Artful Living and Learning currently impacts more than 1700 preschoolers who participate in the program at 29 schools or program sites throughout Stark County. Artful Living and Learning is in its 15th year of introducing children to their creative potential. It has improved school readiness of under-served children, enhanced their creativity and academic/artistic opportunities, and brought the arts into the homes of participating families, many who may not otherwise be exposed to the fine arts.
