The Dragon Dream Team earned a 1st Place finish in the Breast Cancer Survivor division at the Fanshawe Dragon Boat Festival. A great weekend of racing as we continue our journey toward France this August. 🇨🇦➡️🇫🇷🐉🩷

🎓🩷 Announcing the Inaugural Boatloads of Hope Scholarship Recipients! 🩷🎓

The Dragon Dream Team is proud to award two $1,000 scholarships to students whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

Congratulations to Ashton Nair and Sofia Hunt!

This year, we received eight outstanding applications, each sharing powerful stories of resilience, leadership, compassion, and service. Selecting recipients from such a strong group of applicants was no easy task.

Ashton is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Inspired by her family’s experience with breast cancer, she hopes to become an oncology nurse and support patients and families through some of life’s most challenging moments.

Sofia is attending the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Law, Criminal Justice and Society with minors in Political Science and Public Policy. She plans to attend law school and pursue a career as a family lawyer. Sofia is currently studying abroad, so the Dragon Dream Team gathered at practice to celebrate her accomplishment and send our congratulations from Ohio.

Perhaps the most meaningful takeaway from this process was seeing how the impact of breast cancer survivorship extends far beyond those who receive a diagnosis. Through the courage, friendship, and support of Dragon Dream Team members, lives are being touched across generations.

🌸Meet the Dragon Dream Team🌸 Ohio’s first all-breast cancer survivor dragon boat team.

Since 2007, women from newly diagnosed to long time survivors have come together to find strength, healing, and friendship through paddling.

We’re more than a team we’re a sisterhood, proving there is life, hope, and joy after breast cancer. 💕

Together, we paddle for those still fighting, those we’ve lost, and those who will one day need us.
