For individuals with profound autism who may not be able to communicate pain, access to appropriate dental care can be especially challenging.

Acuity Media Network published an in-depth look at what Autism New Jersey and the New Jersey Dental Foundation are building together to help expand autism-friendly dental care in New Jersey.

The partnership is working to identify existing resources and training needs, give dentists practical tools to better serve patients with autism, and address gaps in coordination between dental care and desensitization services.
