GOPIO Central Jersey Holds New Executive Board Induction and Networking Event in Plainsboro, NJ

On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the GOPIO Central Jersey (GOPIO-CJ) Chapter hosted its New Executive Board Induction Ceremony and Networking Event at Jhopri Restaurant in Plainsboro, New Jersey. Amongst the attendees were GOPIO life members, guests, and local business entrepreneurs. The Guest of Honor for the evening was Hemant Marathe, Mayor of West Windsor Township.
The event commenced with the recital of the American National Anthem by Sia Dixit, followed by the Indian National Anthem sung by all attendees. Sapna Mehta welcomed everyone, and a display of brief video highlighting GOPIO's history. Sudha Kankanala then delivered a presentation on the activities organized by GOPIO-CJ over the past four years.

Outgoing President Kunal Mehta extended his sincere appreciation to all members for their support over the last four years, particularly during the challenging pandemic years. He highlighted the accomplishments achieved during his tenure. Incoming President Nish*th Mehta shared his vision for the next two years, pledging to elevate GOPIO-CJ's initiatives to better serve the Indian diaspora, especially new immigrants who may lack knowledge of the local system and traditions. The new Executive Team was introduced by the President Nish*th Mehta which included Vijay Garg - Executive Vice-President, Suresh Reddy - Vice-President, Sapna Mehta – Secretary, Satish Vambukar – Public Relations and Dr. Tushar Patel – Senior Advisor.

West Windsor Township Mayor Hemant Marathe congratulated the new executive team and expressed gratitude for GOPIO-CJ's continued commitment to serving the Indian community. He also extended his full support to the organization. Senior Advisor Dr. Tushar Patel introduced new lifetime members of GOPIO-CJ, recognized with a lapel pin presented by Mayor Marathe.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Secretary Sapna Mehta, followed by dinner and networking. Attendees enjoyed delicious appetizers and dinner provided by Jhopri Restaurant.

GOPIO Central Jersey organized an educational seminar on "Winning strategies/tactics to get your college admissions right" and a great networking event for high school kids and their parents today at East Brunswick Public Library which was attended by more than 60 people. The keynote Speaker was Mukesh M. Patel, serial entrepreneur, ideator, innovator, conncetor, advisor and a professor at Rutgers - The State University in New Jersey, Business and Law School.

The topics included were designing the high school experience, course selections and extra curricular activities, selecting schools and programs, essays and interviews, application types, increasing the probability for admission and many more useful tips for a successful search of a college.

The seminar was very well received and benefitted many students from all across the New Jersey who attended. Congratulations and kudos to the GOPI-CJ Team members - President Kunal Mehta, Nish*th Mehta, Sapna Mehta, Sudha Kankanala, Dr. Tushar Patel & other volunteers Kirti Mehta, Kavya Mehta, Blisse Vakkalagadda and all student volunteers. Thanks to all who provided their support to include Rotary Club of Plainsboro, North & South Brunswick & Shiv Patel.

You may (or may not) be aware that our GOPIO of CJ website was down due to reasons beyond our control.

We have since, with significant support from one of our team members, Mr Satish Vamburkar, launched a new website under the domain address —> GOPIO-NJ.com

We have also updated our GOPIO CJ app that you can download using the QR code you will find on the new website.

Please take a moment to review the new website and provide any feedback to help us further improve it.

I want to thank Satishji and our GOPIO of CJ executive team (Sudhaji, Tusharji, and Nish*thji), immensely, for their time and contributions to enabling a successful launch of our revamped website.

Had a pleasure meeting Edison Mayor Sam Joshi with GOPIO CJ President Kunal Mehta today.

The meeting was to exchange ideas of community collaboration with Mayor’s office and work with each other for better and positive outcomes and better future.
