Last week Thursday the Gateway Community Development Corporation celebrated 20 years with a Gala at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD.

From a successful silent auction, exceptional food and beverage from Martin's and a stellar programming line-up of The Alex Martin Trio, keynote speaker, Anna Bernanke, a speech by Howard Ways, and a special tribute to Joanna Campbell Blake, the event was a huge success.

DJ FLAVA is not only an excellent DJ and an extraordinary artist, but also an activist, passionate for helping less fortunate people and contributing to a better life in the community. You can hear Flava at various clubs, events, concerts across the States & 93.9 WKYS. His DJ work travels all over to Gambia in West Africa, where he acts as personal DJ of their president.

Just two days left before we start the celebration of our 20th anniversary! While we are finalizing the preparations, we are proud to present you our Key Note speaker: Mrs Anna Bernanke.

Anna has changed lives of youth for more than a decade. As a founder and Executive Director of Chance Academy, she is committed to arts-integrated and experiential learning as well as to engaging parents as essential partners in this process. Ana expands her activities also in Egypt and Myanmar, where she contributes to building connections between educators and children. We are proud to have her at our 20th Anniversary Gala!

Howard Ways will bring remarks at Gateway CDC's 20th Anniversary Gala, this Thursday at7 pm at Martin's Crosswinds. Howard is Executive Director of the Prince George's County Redevelopment Authority and through his years of professional experience, Howard has managed over $575 million in real estate development and capital improvement projects. An experienced, manager with political acumen working in diverse, fast paced environments; he is also a creative, detailed oriented problem solver well versed in establishing new business lines.

We are grateful to have Howard at our Gala! Join us and hear more about his experience and insights of Prince George’s County work and activities.
