Friends of The Trail

Friends of The Trail We are your resource in East King County for court-ordered community service! We do trash cleanups year round in the great outdoors.

Call us to inquire about working your hours off or just plain volunteering with us! We have come to realize that there are many organizations dedicated to caring for the environment and maintenance of our hiking trails and recreation areas. But there are few, if any, organizations dedicated to cleaning up public areas that see much abuse from illegal dumping, shooting and littering, including the

heavily used recreational areas. We fill this need to return our public lands and waterways to their pristine state, in the most cost-effective manner. There are many positive effects of our work such as improved wildlife habitat and water quality, prevention of other occurrences of illegal dumping, and contributing towards a more livable Washington for all its citizens.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO OUR FOLLOWERS AND FRIENDS AND Twin Peaks FANS: Please consider making a special donation to us for a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity to clean up a severely distressed property on the Snoqualmie River off of Reinig Road, in the vicinity of the Three Forks Natural Area, very near where the famous opening shot of "Twin Peaks" was filmed. This property has had unbelievable amounts of trash on it for years and recently caught fire (you can view the fire here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1264688772499066 ), and it's not only one of the worst eyesores in the area but also a serious threat to water quality in the river. We have already removed 14 cars, and that's just the beginning. In general, most of our operating funds come from public grants, but there are currently no public funds available to support us in cleaning this property up, and we've got volunteers doing much of the labor. Please show your love for the Snoqualmie River and consider making a donation to us for this cause via the PayPal link on our website: https://friendsofthetrail.org/what-you-can-do/
Please click the "+Add special instructions to the seller" and type "Reinig Road Cleanup Project" in the message box. It isn't generally our practice to undertake unfunded projects, but we have to strike while the iron is hot on this one or we may never be able to do it again. We have already received nearly $1,000 in a single day of our fund drive, but much more will be needed. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. A BIG THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Friends of the Trail offers opportunities for trail cleanup. Volunteer today to help remove litter.

Friends of the Trail removed this trash dumped illegally near Pacific Raceway in Kent, Washington. At least half a dozen neighbors stopped by to thank us, and the court ordered community service folks who worked off some of their hours by helping us with this cleanup are going to love seeing the results of their work here on Facebook! With the good weather season arriving, who wouldn't want to work their hours off in the great outdoors rather than in a hot, steamy kitchen or a dusty warehouse? Call us today at (425) 831-5486 and you could be on one of our crews tomorrow. We work weekends, too, so you won't have to take time off from your day job during the week!
