The long-standing partnership between the North Bay Village Optimist Club of South Florida and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, spanning over 20 years, exemplifies a unique collaboration that resonates with the families of students at Treasure Island Elementary School. Every year, for the past two decades, prior to Thanksgiving Day, the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, in conjunction with the NBV Optimist Club, has donated turkeys to approximately 100 families within the local community. This year's event took place on November 19, 2025. Eddie Lim, the current President of the NBV Optimist Club, stated, "This enduring relationship with the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida highlights the Tribe's generosity in supporting families throughout South Florida during the Thanksgiving holiday." Thank you, Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida !!

We are going to have a fun time decorating the haunted house 🙂

We also need people to dress up and play zombies, witches, and other scary 😱 🎃 👻 characters during the Halloween haunted house times at the Village party. How cool is that!

North Bay Village Optimist Club FL on June 11 2024 was proud to present several scholarships to deserving senior high school students at NBV city hall in with parents, city commissioners in attendance. Thank you so much Gray & Son Jeweler of Surfside, Shuckers Waterfront Bar & Grill, Sunbeam Television Corporation / WSVN Channel 7, Julie’s Realty, philanthropists Sissy Shute and Dr Doug Hornsby, Fraternity Order of Police Lodge 81 and several Optimist Club Members who donated to this great cause.

As in the past 10+ years the Optimist Club of North Bay Village FL once again gave away 100 turkeys to families in the community on Nov 17 2022 at Treasure Island Elementary School.
Huge thanks to the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida for once again donating the turkeys and bags as they have done in past years.
Thanks so much to Flor, Lorena and the staff from TIES for coordinating the entire event and to all members who came to help.

We had a lively recap about the recent scholarship presentation where four HS students were each awarded $1000, about contributing to Treasure Island Elementary School students summer camp and electing next FY Officers.
