Here's to a wonderful start to summer 2026!
Safeena Foundation came together for our All-Inclusive Picnic in the Park at Hempstead Lake State Park, and it was nothing short of joyful.
Families gathered under the trees. Kids ran toward the carousel. Parents swapped stories over lunch. Safeena board members showed up early and stayed late. And for a few hours, none of that mattered more than this: every single person there belonged exactly as they were.
We often say inclusion is important, but here's the reason WE at Safeena feel matters the most: Inclusion is what happens when a community decides no one has to earn their seat at the table. A child doesn't have to perform, mask, or "keep up" to be welcomed. A parent doesn't have to explain or apologize for their family's journey. They just get to be.
That's the kind of soil joy grows in. And that's the kind of community we're building, one picnic, one program, and one family at a time.
To every parent, volunteer, and child who showed up - thank you for reminding us what real connection looks like.
