"My daughters and I have both sold and bought at consignment stores, and I started wondering what it would look like if clients had more say. What if there were a set time to bring items in, each client had their own space to style however they like, and they priced their own things? That idea took hold, and then it was a matter of figuring out how to make it work. It's a family business, so my husband and our two daughters are all part of it.

I hope our customers remember that we treat our clients like partners. They keep 75 percent of the sale because they did a lot of the work, and we handle the selling and the buzz on social media. We're selective so the shop stays curated, and shoppers can always find something good.

As a small business owner, I know how much easier this is when you're not doing it alone. The Merchants Alliance lets us share what's working, send customers to each other, and cheer each other on. When one shop downtown does well, we all benefit, so I want to be part of helping my neighbors succeed.

I also care about what downtown North Augusta feels like. People come here because it has charm, with local shops run by people who live in the community. The Alliance is how we keep that going, by showing up for events, supporting one another, and making downtown a place people want to spend time in. I'm proud to help keep that character alive."
