Forrest shared his faith and passion for Jesus everywhere- and we will miss him everywhere. The Evangelism Team has lost a strong witness.

For many of us, it will be hard to imagine a Third Thursday without Forrest McKie.

Forrest was a familiar face downtown and one of North Augusta Forward's biggest supporters. You could often find him on Third Thursdays outside Cavalier's Coffeehouse helping Grace United Methodist Church pop popcorn, greeting friends, and enjoying the crowds that gathered.

He loved seeing people come together. Whether it was Third Thursday, Spring Fest, Tinseltown Forest, or another community event, Forrest was always proud to see downtown full of life and people making memories together.

More than anything, Forrest encouraged us. He believed in what was happening in Downtown North Augusta, celebrated the progress our community was making, and never hesitated to share his support.

We are grateful for the many ways he showed up for our community and for the joy he found in seeing North Augusta thrive.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, JoAnn, family and friends. Forrest will be missed by many.

Join us this Sunday, June 7, as we continue our series, The Wise Life, with a message from Rev. Dr. Cathy Jamieson titled “The Wise Life: Holiness.”

Scripture: Proverbs 12:13-22 and James 3:1-12
Key Word: Holiness
Theme: Holy Speech and Behavior
Main Idea: Live faithfully, not foolishly.

Words have power. They can build up or tear down, heal or hurt, encourage or discourage. This week, we’ll explore what it means to live a wise and holy life through the way we speak and the way we treat others, allowing God’s wisdom to shape our hearts, our words, and our actions.

We will also celebrate Holy Communion, remembering Christ’s love and grace shared freely with all.

Join us for worship:
• 8:30 am Traditional Worship (Sanctuary)
• 8:45 am LifeSong Worship (Wesley Center & Livestream)

“And He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’” — Revelation 21:5

What a powerful promise.

Jesus doesn’t say, “I am making all new things.” He says, “I am making all things new.”

That means He doesn’t discard what is broken and start over. Instead, He redeems. He restores. He gathers up our broken dreams, broken relationships, broken circumstances, and broken lives, and He makes them new.

There are moments when we cannot see around the corners of life. We don’t know what comes next or how God could possibly bring beauty from the pieces. Yet the same God who spoke creation into existence is still at work today—repairing, mending, and renewing.

We may not fully understand the lengths God goes to in making all things new, but we can trust that He sees what we cannot. He knows what we do not know. And in the end, His promise remains:

“I am making all things new.”

From Mother’s Day Out and Vacation Bible School to graduation and beyond, Sunday was a beautiful reminder of the lifelong impact of a church community.

During Graduate Sunday (May 31st), Lily and Sophia shared heartfelt reflections on their journeys at Grace UMC. Lily recalled growing up through the Children’s Development Center, Sunday School, and VBS, where she learned about faith, friendship, service, and God’s love. Sophia expressed gratitude for a congregation that believes in its young people, invests in them, and encourages them as they grow.

Scholarships were presented to 20 students pursuing higher education, and each graduate received a copy of "Every Moment Holy: Rites of Passage" as a reminder that God’s presence accompanies them through every season of life. The service concluded with Amber Forrest reading a prayer from the book, offering a blessing for the journeys ahead.

As both Lily and Sophia shared, Grace has helped shape who these young adults are becoming. We are grateful to be part of their stories and excited to see where God leads them next.

Congratulations to all of our graduates and scholarship recipients. May you continue to trust God, serve others, and reflect Christ’s love wherever life takes you.
