The Greeneway Bluebird Trail has officially been recognized as an Official Bluebird Habitat by the South Carolina Bluebird Society! To mark the designation, two new habitat signs have been installed along the trail, celebrating years of care, monitoring, and conservation.

This recognition reflects the work of dedicated volunteers and partners who help make the Greeneway a welcoming home for bluebirds season after season.

This season, the Barbara S. Greene Bluebird Trail welcomed 125 new birds! The official count includes 51 Bluebirds, 28 Carolina Chickadees, 41 Carolina Wrens, and 5 Tufted Titmice. These numbers reflect the thriving bird population along the Greeneway Trail, including the Brick Pond areas, highlighting the success of our conservation efforts and the natural beauty of North Augusta.

The trail is due to get a new designation soon. We'll make an announcement about that in the coming weeks.

Big shoutout to Janis Kraus and her group of volunteers for the efforts they make to compile these numbers. They are incredible stewards of North Augusta's Bluebird Trail!

Did you know there's a path between the Greeneway and Downtown North Augusta? The Downtown Greeneway Connector links the Greenway at Hammonds Ferry (Crystal Lake Drive Entrance) to Downtown North Augusta using Bluff Avenue.

Whether you’re walking, running, biking, or strolling with friends, this scenic route brings the community closer to the shops, restaurants, parks, and public art that make our downtown special. It's economic development in action!

Greeneway Update

The North Augusta Parks and Recreation team in partnership with the National and State Guards have successfully cleared ONLY the following paths on and around the Greeneway for the benefit of all walkers, runners, and cyclists. Please refer to the map for precise locations.
