May 31, 2026 (Philadelphia Bound) for 6 months POST CAR-T disease evaluation.

Finally, the day has arrived. It’s not exactly what we want, but we’re going through with it anyway. Being away even just for a few days, is tough, especially when this trip isn't for fun or relaxation. Please send some good vibes to Ava as tomorrow will be her Procedure

We didn’t get Allyssa in our departure photo since she had a softball game today that I couldn’t make it to. We’re all doing our best to just take life one day at a time.

Aeden always gets emotional every time Ava and I leave. He always lets me take his stuffed toy that he named "Cinnamon," so it feels like he’s with me wherever I go. I take photo and send it to his Dad to lets him know he's with me. My boy is so sweet. 🥹 I really hate that we're going through all of this; life is tough, but it’s even harder when you have a kid fighting cancer. 🎗️💔
Please keep our Family in your thoughts and prayers♥️ We are hoping that this trip will be short and that all goes well🥹

May 26, 2026 Update
🙏(6 Months POST-CART Disease Evaluation, Bone Marrow aspiration and Lumbar puncture at CHOP)

On May 31st, Ava and I will be traveling to Philadelphia, where she’s set for evaluation and procedure in June 1st. The team at CHOP has suggested that we stick around for an extra day after the procedure to receive the expedite preliminary results, so I booked our return flight for June 3rd, assuming everything goes well.

They also mentioned that the consideration of another CAR-T reinfusion will be based on how Ava's results turn out from this evaluation.
If her 6-month Bone marrow aspiration shows BCELL return at the same percentage as her 3month evaluation in February 2026 results, with No evidence of disease, they might consider holding off another dose of CAR-T and will continue to monitor her instead. CHOP are encouraged by Ava’s consistent B-cell aplasia in peripheral during her follow-ups since her reinfusion in March.
However, if the results don’t look as promising, we will re-visit the option for a second reinfusion, which would mean a third CAR-T dose, and will put Ava and I to stay awhile in Philly like the last time, which we pray that we don't get this kind of result😌 Although, going for another re-infusion/3rd dose of CAR-T has its own set of concerns outweighing the risks versus benefits, especially since Ava had higher inflammation with her last treatment.

I’m staying hopeful and praying hard for Ava's results to show NO B-cells and NO signs of disease forever so she can avoid another treatment. So she can continue to live and enjoy her life. We’re trying to keep a positive mindset, considering how far we’ve come! We’ve made sacrifices, left our South Carolina home several times, away from family, driven by HOPE. Ava's Bone Marrow home team has their own CAR-T options, but they aren’t the same as what Ava received at CHOP. We chose CHOP even if its 11 hours away from home, because we believe this opportunity offers something that is not available in her home team, we believe that this gives Ava a better chance. Our family, friends, and community have been incredibly supportive to get us to this point, and the Doctors at CHOP have been a true blessing in Ava’s care, working hand-in-hand with her home team. We really feel grateful for having the best care and an amazing team.

But Im not gonna lie, this disease evaluation is always gut-wrenching for all of us, the consistent waits of not knowing what news we get, the consistent worries, that only people whose gone through it can fully grasp. I hate that Ava and her siblings have to feel this pain, especially with the anxiety of being apart again. It's been a rough of over three years with so many setbacks, but we’re thankful for how well Ava has handled it—she’s made the most of her life, when she can! We truly see how God is working during tough times. Despite the pain, yet we have seen God's miracle working each time Ava recovers and each day when Ava is able to do what she likes to do, God showed us so much hope and your prayers has given us strength🥹

To Ava's prayer warriors, we’ve felt your support and have seen how your prayers have made a difference. Our family is beyond grateful to each and everyone of you. Ava has so many plans, and getting good results would be the best belated birthday gift ever for her❤️ I’m holding onto hope that tomorrow brings brighter news for her because God is right in the middle of all this. 🥹❤️🙏

Love,

May 23, 2026 Update ✅
( 2 months POST- CAR-T Re-infusion in March 2026.
First CAR-T infusion in Nov. 2025) Upcoming date for Philadelphia.

Yesterday, Friday, Ava had her blood work and monthly IVIG infusion at MUSC. Unfortunately, it took three tries before they could insert the IV line in her arm which left her feeling unhappy. We asked the Vascular team for assistance to help ease her anxiety about the repeated access and to ensure they pick the best vein for her 2.5-hour infusion and for.multiple labs, MUSC vascular team are a champ and its always a success everytime.

Ava's blood work results yesterday are stable when compared to two weeks ago. Although her levels are still outside the normal range, they are consistent, and we're happy to see her ferritin levels continuing to decrease with each test.

Lately, Ava has been quite occupied with her 🎻Orchestra's Spring concerts. After our trip to Philadelphia and her hospitalization last month, she has jumped right back into rehearsals and catching up with her orchestra pieces. She performed in 4 Spring concerts and enjoyed every minute, and we loved seeing her on stage with her sister, Allyssa. They played at the Senior Honor Banquet, Music in the Park, the Spring Concert, and even played the National Anthem at a baseball game at SRP Park, which was a blast. Ava truly thrives when she performs ❤️ We are immensely grateful to everyone who took their time to watch them play, both girls are thrilled and thankful for your support, thank you for cheering on our girls, specially Ava🥹❤️ It truly means so much to us.

Ava is already scheduled to return to CHOP for her 6-month disease evaluation in June 1st. We’re still gathering some information and will post an update soon regarding CHOP's decisions.

Please continue to keep Ava in your prayers ❤️ She really needs them! Thank you all!

Celebrating Ava on her 17th birthday❤️🎂🎉

I realized I'm a bit late in sharing this, but we held a small celebration for Ava last Saturday, just 3 days prior to her actual birthday on the 12th. Our weekdays have been quite hectic, so we needed to fit it in early. Ava simply requested that I bake her a cake🎂, and she still loves having a balloon🎈 setup for her celebrations, which I've been doing since they were young🙈. Ava is surrounded by love and truly felt celebrated🎉.

As her actual birthday approached, I felt quite anxious because, for the past two birthdays, since her diagnosis in 2023, we had ended up in the hospital just days before her birthday, often being discharged on exact birthday. This year, I prayed for her to remain healthy and to avoid any hospital visits before her birthday, and thankfully, my prayers were answered—God always comes through🥹.”

To our amazing daughter Ava💕

I can still clearly remember the moment you came into this world and the incredible effort you put into being here. At first, your first cry didn't come right away; it took a moment and a bit of help to clear out some extra fluid. But our hearts burst with happiness when we finally heard that strong cry that fill the room. It was then that I realized you were a true warrior, showing an amazing strength. I had no idea back then about the struggles life would throw at you—until cancer came knocking at you at such a young age.

You've achieved so much more than I ever imagined, showing a remarkable ability to make a difference in the world. This became clear as we watched you fight for your life during those hospital stays. Each time you went into the procedure room, you faced your fears alone, surrounded by unfamiliar medical tools and faces of doctors and nurses who became your support when your dad and I couldn’t be there. You’ve gone through more medications than many grown-ups, faced painful procedures, and dealt with discomfort that felt never-ending, all while machines beeped away, keeping us both awake. Through good and bad news, you showed incredible patience and hope.

Your strength, resilience, and bright smile have inspired everyone around you. I’m always praying for your health now and going forward, and I'm so thankful to God for allowing me to be your mom. You were the first light we needed in our lives, and we couldn’t be more proud of you. You’ve shown us how to navigate life's challenges and have beaten cancer not just once, but three times, proving your incredible ability to push through hard times. I know it’s been tough, but you've grown in your faith in God through it all.

I love you more than words can say, just like you've told me every night since you were little. Always remember the love that surrounds you from our community and all the people you haven’t met yet. It was a joy to see you so happy during your little celebration that day—you truly deserve every moment of joy💕

I love you, Ava, more than my life, and I hope you always keep that in your heart.❤️💕

May 5, 2026 (DAY +40 Post CART REinfusion)UPDATE

Ava continues to amazed us with her resilience and strength. Despite the challenges she faces she choose to live with a purpose🥹
(Watch her journey below as its pouring down 🌨️rain🙈

We don't get to choose what we go through but we get to choose how to live because of it. Ava has shown this and so much more and we are more than proud🥹

This past Saturday, she participated in a 5K Fun Run to raise money helping kids with School fees, her Dad and sister Allyssa joined her.
We're incredibly proud of her completing a 5K 🥹❤️ This is such a big milestone for her. Ava and Allyssa have been training twice a week to prepare for this, and after her hospital discharge, Ava focused on building her strength again. She consistently sets goals for herself, whether related to academics, recovery, nutrition, personal growth, or even her strict sleep routine—something I truly admire🙈

Cancer has taught her valuable lessons about acceptance and resilience. She chooses to move forward, despite the hardships, Ava is always seeking opportunities to give back. Ava learns to navigate disappointments and persists even when she feels broken. She has grown stronger, refusing to let her struggles define her.

Recently, Ava received the green light from her CAR-T team to return to 🎻Orchestra, which thrilled her since she missed two major events. She’s now looking forward to the upcoming Spring concerts and can’t wait to play her viola again. Although her doctors haven’t cleared her for in-person classes the remaining of this school year, Ava remains dedicated to finishing strong before summer break. It's been a challenging year for her, but I’m so proud of her focus and commitment to her goals.

Prayers have been answered! 🙏🥹

Ava's recent B-cell peripheral tests from April 23 and May 4 came back negative, indicating NO B-cells present. 😭 Her other blood work remains stable, and those previously high results like Ferritin came down from 30K to 3,900 we are so amazed, although this number is still high but it has drop tremendously and we pray these keeps on a downward trend. Overall, the team is pleased with what they see.

Ava is feeling great after several weeks of recovery from her hospitalization. She's eagerly looking forward to her upcoming 🎂 birthday on May 12 as she prepares to turn 17! 🙈😭

We are immensely proud of Ava and grateful to God for being there for her during her time of need. 🙏🥹 The power of all the prayers that supported her through both tough and good days in her battle is remarkable, and we can’t thank you all enough. This journey is one we couldn't navigate without each of you by our side. ❤️

Plans,

We are awaiting for CHOP/Philadelphia to let us know next week hopefully about Ava's next appointment for her 6 months BMA and disease evaluation POST CAR-T and a possible 3rd CAR-T reinfusion. Expected this end of May or First week of June.

Please continue to pray for Ava and lets continue to Fight🎗️

Love,
The Wease's💕
