Because patients and families must often devote all of their energy and resources towards battling the disease, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage payments, utilities, and other household expenses. This relief allows the Foundation’s grant recipients to focus on their fight against cancer and not on the financial distress that comes with it.

This month, we're highlighting KDL Aesthetics, a practice specializing in safe, evidence-informed oncology aesthetic services that support the skin health and emotional wellness of individuals impacted by cancer.

Founded by licensed aesthetician Lynn, KDL Aesthetics provides compassionate care for patients, survivors, and caregivers alike. Through a connection made on UniCORN, KDL Aesthetics even helped Michelle, the mother of JAF pediatric patient Everly, take a much-needed moment for herself during her family's cancer journey.

There's a human on the other side of every diagnosis.

That message has guided Alex Clithero through years of cancer treatment and inspired her family to give back in meaningful ways.

When our team visited Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in New Hampshire, we had the opportunity to meet Alex and her son Austin, who shared the story behind Hawks for Hope, an initiative making a difference for cancer patients and caregivers throughout their community. Austin even got the chance to meet Joe and share the inspiring work he has been doing to help others.

Their story is one of resilience, community, and finding ways to spread hope even in life's most difficult moments.
