20 YEARS AGO TODAY on September 11, 2005 NA United played our first MASC League game at the American Legion field in Wrentham. Who knew what the future held for that group of players, coaches and parents and what a ride it became!
Having the YMCA in North Attleboro as our home, NAU practiced and played hard. As a "town" team taking on "club" teams, we know we had to be committed both physically and mentally strong...and that we were! Those practices were invaluable and helped the girls become a team.
Having had hundreds of girls go through NAU over the years, experiencing teamwork (on and off the field) car washes, Revolution games & player visits, banquets, trophies/awards, winning/losing seasons, winning/losing tournaments and hundreds of hours of having fun (mostly!) and making memories & friends...it turned out to be more than what we had hoped.
Thank you to all the parents who allowed NAU to become part of your daughters lives. We truly hope their, and your, experiences were memorable and positive.
Thank you to all the coaches throughout the years. By buying in to the NAU system, you all helped deliver guidance, inspiration and fun into every practice, game, tournament and banquet. You allowed life-long memories to happen!
Thank you to all the Board members, most of whom are also parents. Your commitment to helping allow NAU to grow and prosper was an invaluable cornerstone to the overall success of the soccer club.
Most of all, thank you to the players for making our time with NAU unforgettable! Seeing you all develop your soccer and interpersonal skills made all the long hours well worth it! We hope the memories that you had at practice, during games/tournaments and off the field were positive and looked back on fondly. Watching the girls grow up has been quite enjoyable and wish them all well in whatever they do...maybe coach youth soccer themselves!
Personally, you have no idea how special my time with NAU and NAUA has been in my life. You don't always get a chance of being part of something so influential, rewarding and special to so many people. I will never forget the memories and friendships NAU brough to me.
