Preschool teacher Valerie Pinkham set up math games to show how her students are working on their early numeracy skills. Art teacher Richard Reichenbach displayed students' art projects. We thank the families who attended, the staff who helped students with their projects, and third grade teacher Jasmyn Wagg, our school's STEAM lead teacher who organized this event.

Solon Elementary School held a STEAM Night on June 1st. Each class did a project related to the theme of agriculture with some of the elements of STEAM - science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. In addition to STEAM projects, a variety of works of art done by students were on display. About 100 people attended to look at the projects the students had done in their classrooms. We thank STEAM lead teacher Angela Dunton for organizing this event.

Last night at the East-West Conference Banquet, Lisa Cowan received the Unsung Hero award for our high school.
Lisa Cowan devotes countless hours behind the scenes to support Carrabec athletics. After putting in a full day’s work, Lisa provided food and beverage options for parents, siblings, and fans attending all of our home soccer and basketball games. When tragedy struck one of our basketball families, Lisa offered to re-open the snack booth for post-season exhibition games and donated 100% of the proceeds to the family in need. Lisa is truly an unsung hero and deserves recognition for her dedication and perseverance!
