Ride for Angels

Ride for Angels This year's Annual “Ride for Angels” has gone VIRTUAL. Registration is free, cyclists have the opportunity to do one of four lengths. Registration is FREE!

Fundraising is optional but greatly appreciated. Top fundraiser wins RoundTrip Tickets on JetBlue. This year's Ride for Angels has gone VIRTUAL to keep our riders, volunteers and sponsors safe. Cyclists can embark on one of several length rides throughout the Northeast MA and Southern NH portions of New England. All we ask is that you consider fundraising to benefit Angel Flight NE. Angel Flight N

ortheast is a non-profit organization that provides free flights in private aircraft by volunteer pilots, for persons who need access to medical care or have other compelling needs. Angel Flight NE brings hope and compassion to what can be a difficult time in a person’s life. There is never a charge for an Angel Flight! Please feel free to look through the rest of this website (www.AngelFlightNE.org). I encourage you to look at a few videos, read a few stories and truly feel what kind of difference this service is providing. It is truly remarkable!

A wonderful piece featured in Haverhill Life about Angel Flight NE and AutoFair Ford of Haverhill's involvement in our mission.

Many thanks to Alison Colby-Campbell & Haverhill Life for spreading the word about our vital mission and how we are assisting patients within the Merrimack Valley community and beyond to access the specialized medical care they need with the help of the Ford Motor Company Fund Ground Crew including local Ford dealers, like AutoFair Ford of Haverhill. Haven't seen the piece yet in this month's issue? Then please take a look on page 20 of Haverhill Life - https://www.merrimackvalleylife.com/pageview/viewer/2021-10-15 =19

Please take a moment to read about Ayah's journey from Copenhagen, Denmark to Texas and how AFNE helped her and her family travel safely to receive the specialized care she needs.

We are so blessed to be part of beautiful Ayah's journey from Copenhagen, Denmark to Medical City Children's Hospital in San Antonio, TX for treatment of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. With the generous support of the Alexion Charitable Foundation that supports patients with rare and ultra-rare diseases, our mission coordination team worked for several weeks to book commercial flights for Ayah and her family to travel safely the 5,300 mile journey. Ayah is featured in this week's Thankful Thursday, please take a moment to read about her incredible journey - https://mailchi.mp/b31b2865c664/afne-thankful-thursday-september16-ayah-sm

We might not be having the Ride for Angels this year, but you still can help support our vital mission. Our Annual Evening of Angels is scheduled for November 12th and a large part of the event is the auction. Maybe you can spare a gift card or an item that we can include? Every bit helps!

A large part of our Evening of Angels Gala is our auction that raises vital funds for our mission. We could use your help! Do you have connections with a company that would be interested in donating a gift card, and/or item that we can include this year's auction? Would you consider a cash donation so we can purchase items to include? Every bit helps and will make a meaningful impact in the lives of the children and adults we assist. Here is a link to the form for auction item donations -https://afnedonationpage.weebly.com/uploads/1/3/3/4/133460233/2021_eveningofangels_auction_itemcommitmentform.pdf

We may not be having the Ride for Angels this year, but the need to support our mission is still appreciated. With many patients deferring their treatments over the past 15+ months, the need for our free air transportation services is even greater as they begin to return to their medical care and treatment.

Take a moment to meet this week's Thankful Thursday patient, Landon. With generous and compassionate support from JetBlue, this two-year old adorable guy & his family were able to travel from Ellenton, FL to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for Specialized Treatment. https://mailchi.mp/a829e6d3bccb/afne-thankful-thursday-july22-sm

The Ride for Angels Event Organizers were optimistic that we would hold the Annual Ride for Angels as an in-person event this coming September, but with a very heavy heart we must deliver the disappointing news that we have made the very difficult decision to postpone it until next year (2022). Having very little time to pull the Ride for Angels together as a meaningful, well organized event as it always has been, event planning would have had to begin several months ago to make it the ongoing successful event that our participants and sponsors have enjoyed in year's past.

We are heartbroken to deliver this disappointing news, but we take great pride in holding well-organized events that are enjoyed by all and help to raise awareness as well as funds for our mission.

Treatment for our patients' illnesses never ceased during the pandemic and we have continued to provide the free air transportation so they can access life-saving medical care. If anything, our patients turned to us even more often to travel safely and efficiently to their medical appointments and treatments. And our volunteer pilots have actively been involved in COVID-19 relief efforts. Please help spread the word about our vital mission so we can assist more patients in need.

If you would like to make a donation in lieu of participating in the Ride for Angels, we would greatly appreciate it. As a small nonprofit providing such a vital service to our patients, every donation is helpful and greatly appreciated - https://afnedonationpage.weebly.com/

Thank you for your continued support of Angel Flight NE's mission and please stay tuned with the hope you can join us next year!

An amazing achievement by AFNE Volunteer Pilot, Richard Jacobs!

Have you had a chance to read this week's Thankful Thursday? Meet Calvin & Lava - an adorable duo!

Don't these pictures just make your heart melt? We first met adorable Calvin & his mom, Ali, when they came through our office on their way to Boston Children’s in 2018. We feel so very blessed to have had the opportunity to be with Calvin on his journey and jumped at the chance to help their family pickup & train with his new service dog. What an amazing story and incredible bond! Read this week's Thankful Thursday - https://mailchi.mp/48d85b3655a4/afne-thankful-thursday-february11-sm 4 Paws For Ability

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission. Did you have a chance to read this week's Thankful Thursday? Your support makes missions like King's trip home to NC possible. 🥰

With the help of our very compassionate and generous AFNE Volunteer Pilot Guy P., King and his family flew safely home to North Carolina after receiving an emergency medical treatment for Pre B-ALL, an extremely rare type of Leukemia, in NYC.
