Bub & Jim photographed this bird perched on our raptor pole and watched it swoop down into the garden. 🦅 At first glance, it looks like a fat pigeon but it’s actually a juvenile red-tailed hawk!

This time of year can be quiet at the garden as our summer volunteers are saying goodbye and our fall school groups are still a few weeks away. 🐝🌻 Look at the pollen on these bees!

When we buy cut sunflowers at the store or florist, they’re usually pollen-free varieties, so your dining room table doesn’t end up looking like the pollen-dusted leaf in this photo! But, at the Giving Garden, we make sure to choose seeds for flowers that produce pollen.

We love watching the bees move from flower to flower, happily collecting pollen and making a beautiful little mess along the way. 💛 At the Giving Garden, we’re growing more than flowers, we’re growing a place where pollinators can thrive, too!🌻🐝
