‪R.W. Timothy McGavin, Golden Rule Lodge AF & AM , Wakefield, has been elected the 92nd Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts. He will be installed for the first of his 3 one-year terms at our Stated Meeting on December 29th.

Brethren,
With the weather continuing to decline it has been my decision that Williams Lodge will cancel the Meeting and Degree work this evening in order to keep the Brethren safe at home.
We will continue to have rehearsals at 6:30 pm every Tuesday at the Lodge to keep everyone sharp. And plan on conferring the Master Mason Degree January 6th 2026. S

Last Evening at Lafayette-Greylock Lodge, the District Deputy Grand Master of the 30th Masonic District, Rt. Wor. R.
Bradford Columbus paid his Last Official Visit. After inspecting the Charter, By-Laws, Records and Returns, presented Wor. Nelson Ogert with a Certificate for serving as Master for three consecutive years. Very shortly after a demand was made at the door. An unexpected visitor was waiting in the Anteroom. To the surprise of all, The Most Worshipful Grand Master, George F. Hamilton was here to pay a visit on R.W. Bro. Columbus's behalf. After assuming the East presented R.W. Bro. Columbus with the Henry Price Medal for service to Grand Lodge, and a gift to his wife Sue, an emerald Sprig of Acacia as a symbol of a Masons wife. The evening will be a momentous occasion not soon to be forgotten by any in the District. Congratulations Rt. Wor. Bro. Columbus and Wor. Nelson Ogert. And a huge thank you to our Grand Master, Most Worshipful George F. Hamilton for an incredible evening.

My Brother, on this day in 1733, Freemasonry in America (which was a colony at that time) began. Right Worshipful Brother Henry Price, a humble tailor with a grand vision, convened a meeting of brethren at the Bunch of Grapes Tavern on King Street in Boston. There, under authority granted by Lord Viscount Montagu, Grand Master of England, Price organized the Provincial Grand Lodge for the very first time in Boston. He presented his petition (pictured below) from England and the brethren elected the Grand Lodge officers and chartered the 1st Lodge in New England; now known as the Saint Johns Lodge. Brother, reflect on this moment... How a handful of men of faith, hope, and charity kindled a light that still burns today. Reflect on how you are carrying the torch forward into the future.

Brethren, near and far! Take notice that this year's Hill Degree that was scheduled for August 16 in Williamstown has been canceled for this year. Next year promises to be bigger and better. Thank you for all who planned on attending in support of the event.

Brethren of the 30th and 31st Masonic Districts of the Grand Lodge of Masons of Massachusetts. I would like to congratulate the Officers of every Lodge who took the time to attend the annual Exemplification. The work performed was great and attendance was good. Brethren the workshop was a great success. There was some excellent questions from all the Districts, and I feel some Brethren went home with a better understanding and firmer grasp of our ritual. A special thank you to Wor. Len Ziarnik and Wor. Steve Shaw for their assistance in the workshop, and Globe Unity Lodge for hosting the Workshop.
Now let's apply this updated ritual knowledge to our work at Exemplification. Looking forward to seeing all of you on May 7th at 7:00 pm in the apartments of Now Moon Lodge in Pittsfield for the 30th and 31st Districts Exemplification.
