Please note that the George Washington Carver CC office is closed today, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

To give our families and community members the opportunity to celebrate and support this important day, we encourage everyone to attend the Juneteenth Street Festival hosted by Norristown Municipality on Main Street and DeKalb Street, beginning at 12:00 PM.

Enjoy the live music, delicious food vendors, local small businesses, and community celebration before stopping by to cool off with us later in the day!

Last day to register for the early bird price! Spaces still available.

Look what is returning and have increased significantly in numbers over the past 7+ years. We started out with 15 and ended up with about 50 last year. 👏👏👏

Tennis Camp is returning this year for the week of June 22, 2026 - June 26, 2026. ❤️💙👏🥎🎾

Our amazing tennis instructors Mr. and Mrs. Mason have been very consistent, professional, organized, educational and have volunteered their time to enjoy what they do by teaching youth tennis. Some youth were so consistent and passionate that they were able to join Mt. Zion Community Tennis Association at other tennis events with an invite. 👏

Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth have also been amazing instructors as well. We appreciate them as well with educating and volunteering their time to support our youth. We thank them as well. 🎾🥎👏

Due to the high demand of this program and participation, signups are different this year. There is a maximum amount of registrations per each day. Registrations are on a first come first serve basis.

Always thank you to Mt. Zion Community Tennis Association for your partnership for the past 7+ years. We truly appreciate you all exposing this sport to our youth. 🥎🎾😊

Father's Day Dinner is today from 5:30-7:00 pm. This day is honoring men who are fathers; biologically and unbiologically. 💙🙏

Many of you have stepped up and played the role of being a father, step father, grandpop, uncle, god dad, god brother, nephew, mentor, clergy, etc.

You are amazing and appreciated. 💙

Also we would like to give a huge thank you to Pastor Frank Lee of Victory Church and his amazing congregation for sponsoring an Icecream Truck and sounds by DJ Steve Ferguson at today's Father's Day event! 🙏👏😊

We will also have activities for men and kids to engage in, games, and a raffle for MEN only.

Still more available space. Drop off is this Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 12:00 pm. at the George Washington Carver Community Center and pick up at 5 pm. Please send swim gear and a towel if he/she wants to swim, which will be covered by the GWCCC.

Good afternoon community. As Juneteenth is approaching, we are partnering with Jefferson Health in East Norriton for a Juneteenth celebration. ❤️🖤💚

We are reaching out to see who would like to sign their youth up to participate in a pre Juneteenth Celebration at Jefferson Health on June 18, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

Transportation will be provided as well as a lunch, and a costume to wear for that time.

This will be an awesome collaboration so that the staff and patients would enjoy seeing our youth. You know they love seeing children.

Details:

▪︎ Wearing a costume and talking about he/she character.
▪︎ Having fun
▪︎ Free swimming after event

The first 10 kids to sign up by emailing: [email protected] will be chosen. Please email the following: Adult's Name, Child's Name, Child's Age, and your size(s).

Spots are limited which means if you cannot commit to sending your child, please do not sign him/her up. This will interfere with other kids who are interested in signing up.

Must be at least 8 years of age and older.

S.T.E.A.M. Builders updated Calendar for the remainder of our program. The 2 dates that have changed are; June 27, 2026 (9-2 pm) which is now June 26, 2026 from (9:45 - 5 pm.) and August 15, 2026 which is now August 8, 2026.

The George Washington Carver Community Center is participating in the July 4th Parade. We welcome you and especially our youth to walk with us. It starts at 1 pm. but lineup will be at 12:30 pm at the parking lot on Dekalb and Airy Streets.

• Carrying GWCCC Banner
• Waving and greeting
spectators.
• Giving out snacks and other
items to the spectators.
