Our services are available 24/7 and include acute psychiatric inpatient care, a crisis center and su***de hotline, a crisis residential program (Carol's Place), and a psychiatric emergency medical service (EMS). We provide assistance in arranging involuntary emergency psychiatric evaluations for individuals who are felt to be a potential danger to themselves or to others through the Montgomery Cou

The Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) Program which provides mental health crisis intervention training to police officers, emergency responders, and other professionals on safely assisting persons with serious mental illness, developmental disability, and suicidality. The MCES Su***de Prevention Program which offers information, education, and technical assistance to health and human service providers, community groups, and other organizations on su***de risk and su***de loss. Our Crisis Center is a member of the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline Network.

While dropping off some 988 brochures at the Main Line Health Medical Center in Newtown Square one of our staff ran across this in a rest room. Kudos to MLH on promoting 988. Be great if providers also did so in their exam rooms.

We very much appreciate the support that the Sun East Foundation has provided to our EMS and many other programs.

It's Hospital Week and this email is a very nice reminder of how MCES has an impact far beyond SE PA: "I am a veteran and a soon to be retired VA employee. I currently use your MAP Booklet in our residential program....and have used it for the past 20-22 years. Now, why am I writing to you. As I said, I am about to retire and I have a colleague who will be facilitating the group, but my “original” has seen better days and I was wondering if I could get a “clean” copy from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email. You have done a great work and your booklet has helped a lot of veterans!"

We were happy to send a "clean" copy.

At MCES every week is Police Week and has been for over 50 years. We were created to be a resource for police officers in every municipality in Montgomery County (PA) who need an emergency psychiatric evaluation and treatment, if necessary, 24/7 for someone in crisis. Our EMS has been assisting officers with transports since 1975; our Crisis Intervention Specialist training has enabled officers to safely respond to behavioral health emergencies since 1976. We appreciate the support that our police partners give us in serving our mission

With 988 contacts by text and chat growing and the overwhelming majority of telephonic contacts received from cell phones, it is easy to forget what connected crisis callers and crisis counselors for decades.
