UPDATE: Wednesday 1/21/26: The trail is open again.

Tuesday 1/20/26, 8 pm. ITS 87 (The Snowmobile Trail) between Skowhegan and the KVT in Norridgewock is temporarily CLOSED. There is an obstruction in the trail with no workaround. We hope to have the remnants of our groomer removed by Thursday, 1/22/26. No one was injured, and the Norridgewock Fire Department was prompt and professional. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Got the announcement from the State of Maine ATV Program:

The Kennebec Valley Trail will close to ATV traffic for the season at the end of the day on Sunday, November 30th.

Since the Access Routes in Norridgewock and surrounding towns closed with the first plowable snow a few days ago, beginning Monday, December 1st there should be no ATV traffic anywhere in the area, unless it's on your property, or property you have permission to be on.

ATV you in the Spring!

11/16/2025

Norridgewock ATV access roads are now closed for the season. The KVT is open for ATVs until either the state closes it to ATVs, or first groomable snow. You can access the KVT by trailering to the Park and Ride at Ashley Wing Memorial Park on Martin Stream Road.

Norridgewock access roads are also now closed.
