DID SOMEBOY SAY BINGO!! Well, after over three years, Friday night before our train trip to Palestine, Thena finally played bingo! The best part is listening to her complain all evening about not winning.🤣 Thanks Sandra Johnson for calling the bingo, they really enjoyed you.❤️

CHOO, CHOO TRAIN! We had an incredible time with our Golden Girls - Mrs. Bertheen Evans and Mrs. Hilda Harrell, taking the Piney Woods Diesel Express trip on Saturday. This was a dream for me, Nina Williams and my sister Lemurle Garrett. We grew up by the train tracks and racing the train was one of our favorite things to do! We also enjoyed our G-ROC"ker Sandra Johnson and was delighted she joined us. We thank God for making it possible to bring smiles and warm the hearts of our Golden Girls!

ATTENTION! In light of the continuous increase of Covid-19/Delta variant, the board met to discuss how we should proceed with this year's annual back-to-school splash. We consulted with medical personnel, who advised us of the recommended sanitation for the water slides - in 2 hour intervals, and the time that would need to be devoted to do contact tracing - should anyone later inform us they had Covid after the event. Therefore, the board agreed the demand for either of these would be greater than what we are equipped to handle at this time. It's all about the safety of everyone, volunteers and kids! While I am personally disappointed that it is being canceled, it would devastate me - Nina Williams, if this event was held and became a super spreader. I want to thank our wonderful major sponsors - Deon Brooks and Lisa Easterling Brooks, and our other sponsors who were prepared to partner with us this year. Also, a big THANK YOU to Sunny and Brandon Wobig - and their family who volunteered to help set everything up on Friday night. I'm very appreciative of the continued support we have received over these 14 years for our back-to-school splash and Good Lord willing, we will see everyone next year! Our prayer is that everyone stays safe and healthy. Please share this flyer to help get the word out.
