Wanted to give one more shoutout to our Campfire Award winners! 🎉 The awards may have been bike wheels, paddles, shovels, snowshoes, and fishing poles, but the real recognition is for being awesome humans.

Y.E.T.I. Clubs had been wrapping up their year with pizza parties and time to reflect on what they’ve built together. Pacific Middle School brainstormed around a whiteboard asking “what makes this club special?” and the answers said a lot: memories, kindness, cooperation, adventure, new hobbies, stepping out of comfort zones, consistency, unique people, and more. We often talk about what being in a Y.E.T.I. Club means and the benefits it can create, but it’s always more meaningful hearing it in the words of students themselves as they reflect on their own experiences.

We were excited to welcome back to Y.E.T.I. HQ for the second year in a row for their Anderson Award celebration. Their staff spent the day supporting local young people getting outside by rolling up their sleeves to repair bikes, clean kayaks, and care for the equipment that powers accessible outdoor adventure. It takes a community to make this work possible, and we’re grateful for ours!

Throwback to our open enrollment stewardship day. Students spent the day outside building connection to place and practicing stewardship. Learning that loving the outdoors also means caring for it.

The Second annual Y.E.T.I. x Windermere Community Service Day! Grateful to have back again this year helping out around Y.E.T.I. HQ. They helped repair bike racks, clean kayaks, remove nonnative blackberries, and take on other projects that support our programs and young people. We really appreciate partners like Windermere who show up and help care for the gear and spaces that make our adventures possible!
