Nature shapes childhood in powerful ways.

From tree-lined sidewalks to school gardens to nights under the stars, outdoor experiences help kids grow healthier, happier, and more connected to the world around them.

We also know that young people are closest to both the crisis and the answers.

That’s why we’re excited to partner with Sierra magazine to launch a national essay contest for youths. The contest, made possible by the generous support of Nocs Provisions, encourages young people to get outdoors and invites them to put pen to paper and tell a story about the experience. The winning essay will be published in the upcoming special edition of Sierra Seedlings for kids and families.

Now more than ever, we need to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the Earth. We must help people practice and promote the responsible use of Earth's ecosystems and resources. Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment, and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives. Let's include a demand for accountability from those who continue to contaminate our water, land, and air. This planet is our only home, and we all benefit from having a healthier place to live. 🌎

Thank you to all who attended last night's joint meeting with the Audubon Society! We had a great time learning about CJ's research on the Black-Capped Vero. There were 35-40 people in attendance. If you're looking for more bird-related events, we're having another bird walk with Mark Howery on March 28th at Lake Thunderbird. We'll have more details soon! 🐦πŸ₯πŸͺΏπŸ¦†πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ¦…πŸ¦‰
