Can the vaccines your child gets make other people sick? No. While there is a theoretical risk that a weakened vaccine virus (but never an inactivated vaccine) could wander from your child's body to someone else's, this "shedding," if real, is extremely rare. In the case of measles, it has never made anyone sick. (In other words, measles outbreaks are caused by vaccine refusal, not by vaccines!)
