Letters From Camp….

Today was bittersweet.

Today we said goodbye to the last of Summer Camp 2026 campers.

Today we closed up camp and said goodbye to our camp family and the place we have called home for the month of June

It takes an exceptional group of people to come together for 5 weeks and still have the same enthusiasm on the last day as they did on Day 1.

Each week I have said how grateful I am. How grateful I am to be the Camp Director. How grateful I am that these people chose to be a part of staff. How grateful I am that we all, staff and campers, have a common bond that is Summer Camp at Maumee Scout Reservation.

So long for now from Summer Camp. It won’t be long before we once again say: Welcome to Camp!

We are currently safe! All campers are in the dining hall with movies, games, and PBJ.

Staff are in the OA Basement playing euchre and eating Scout popcorn.

Everyone moved to interior rooms during warnings. Incredible teamwork by all!

Many dedicated and trained scouters here to help us weather the storm.

Letters from Camp….

We are ready!

Camp staff spent the last week training, prepping and cleaning, problem solving and building their ENTHUSIASM!!!

We are ready!

We have a dedicated team, both young and old(er) that are eager to inspire and hopefully change lives this summer.

We are ready!

We cannot wait for that first trailer to pull into the parking and to say “Welcome to Camp”

A Scout is….

After the recent storms left our camp with downed trees and significant damage, a small but mighty group of dedicated Scouters stepped up without hesitation.

With chainsaws, power tools, work gloves, and a whole lot of determination, they gave their time and energy to clear trails, remove debris, and begin restoring the camp we all love. It wasn’t easy work—but it was done with cheerful spirits, teamwork, and true Scout grit.

Because of their efforts, our camp is safer, cleaner, and one step closer to being ready for the Scouts who will soon call it home again this summer.

Thank you for living the values of service and leadership. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and your commitment to Scouting makes a lasting difference.

The Hoosier Trails Council promotes camping and does not want any Scout to miss the opportunity to attend a summertime camping or training program offered by our Council.

A Scout is Thrifty.
Scouting America and the Hoosier Trails Council encourage all Scouts to earn their own way to activities, as this philosophy supports the basic aims of Scouting. However, we realize that some Scouting families need a little extra help at times in order to participate.

Camperships are limited to registered youth members of the Hoosier Trails Council.

Camperships are also available for attendance at National Youth Leadership Training and National High Adventure Bases programs

Camperships may not be used for out-of-Council camps or programs.

There is an application to be completed, signed, and submitted by the unit leader. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2026.

PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOUR SCOUT FAMILIES!
